Overheating?

Yo guys I need help. the light that indicates the car is over heating turns on out of no where, even if its cold as **** outside. something else i noticed is when im going 20mph and i hit the brakes enough to jerk the car, it turns off. and sometimes when i m driving and the RPM's reach 5K and up, it makes a weird sound like its struggling. i need help yo.

Can be your thermostat, sensor, low coolant, coolant leak, or water pump. Get your coolant system checked. Is it over heating, like the actual temp gauge goes up to H or just the coolant light?

You can contact several rotary shops in socal.

Mazda Trix, JRX Rotary, Lucky 7 Racing, Tri-Point Engineering, Rotary Reliability & Racing, Neptune Speed

Sounds like your coolant level sensor is crapping out...or your coolant level is low

That's what I was thinking... But I'm leaning towards low coolant, since it changes when he hits the brakes (the fluid shifts in the tank.)

Gonna need a more complete, detailed description than "weird sound" yo.

A thermostat would have no effect on your car's hot start issues... Do a search, there are quite a few threads here regarding hot start issues.

the weird sound could be the overflow tank steaming over because the coolent level is low.

That's all nice and fine that you had it flushed in the summer, but that doesn't mean its perfect NOW.

Get under the hood, remove the radiator cap, and look at the level.

Sounds like your coolant level sensor is going bad (common problem, search it) or you need to add some coolant, just check the level it's easy.

Also the hard starts when the engine is warm, loss of power, and odd noises could either mean you need to look at seafoaming, replacing the coils and plugs (what was the last time you did this?) or that you need to get a compression test to see if the engine is dying.
