KY Black 8 down! Need Help!

2004 MT with 93K miles

Clutch went out last week and I just now got it replaced and everything back together... So now the car will not start at all. The starter will not even bump. Dash lights up, all power works. But no action.

Also, I tried to roll start it and when I let snapped the clutch pedal NOTHING happened. What I soon discovered is sometimes the clutch will disengage, sometime it won't. No apparent rhyme or reason, just random.

Some back ground... When the clutch went out last week it was also intermittent like this but for the most part it would not go into or out of gear. It never completely went out and stayed engaged. I had to use the starter while engaged in 1st gear a few times to get going so the starter took a real beating. When I got in to fix the clutch the old pilot bearing had gone out (disintegrated) and everything was jacked up on what looked like an otherwise new Exedy clutch. Got everything replaced (disc, PP, TO bearing, pilot bearing and seal, new Royal Purple tranny juice), all harnesses back together with dielectric grease (minus one ground strap on the exhaust that snapped).

I took some vacation time to get the 8 going but I am almost out of time. I have to get back on the road soon. My wife commutes and uses out other car so I am out of options there.

Does this sound mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical?

Any help would be appreciated, experience with actually working on vehicles would be appreciated even more Sorry but I know there are folks who have never actually done anything real mechanical but they dispense advice freely.

Tanx,

fish

I also did some other work during this time just in case there is something else going on: Repaired the blower motor resistor and removed the instrument cluster.

You prolly need to get this fixed first.

If the starter isn't even clicking, and you 'snapped the clutch pedal' there may be damage at the clutch switch, the switch on the firewall that the clutch pushes on, at the end of it's travel. No push, no start.

Sorry mate. I "popped" the clutch pedal and nothing happened.
