Transmission fluid in radiator water

Can anyone shed some info please....
I'm experiencing transmission fluid not heavily in the overflow bottle with some very light brown thick residue when i drain the radiator ..... i have the 04 4spd Auto Rx8 the car starts and runs normal even the gears change's smoothly

So what can be the cause of that???

Are you sure it isn't engine oil or gas?

i believe it to be transmission fluid.... the dip stick of the transmission has the residue and water on it.... but is there a way to drain the tran fluid....dont know if there is a crack in the radiator that caused it where the fluid passes through

Unless the automatic transmission cooler is internal and is located in your radiator ( which I doubt), you shouldn't have tranny fluid in your coolant. Just a guess, I don't know much about the automatic 8's.

Well then why respond at all then? The cooler is built into the stock radiator. It is actually pretty common for manufacturers to cool transmission fluid this way.

I just wasn't sure if the automatics had it like that... Cause that could explain his issue.

Adelante, why did you start a duplicate thread? I already answered this in your other thread.

this all happened when i was on the freeway in 2nd gear @5500rpm when i noticed smoke coming from under the car midway to the back (Fluid splashing on the exhaust pipe) so i pulled over to the emergency lane and saw a trail of fluid on the road it was not drops but more squirted or sprayed line (under pressure i guess) under the engine bay and inside had fluid.....so did it come from a hose or the radiator haven't seen any leaks or drips of fluid since then.. the car has been parked up since then also

The radiator is a new replacement (Spectra) that i ordered from carpartswholesale.com i got 2 years warranty on it so i will have to send it back.... is there a way to drain the system cause even the transmission will have water in it as well...

You are thinking owners manual, he is talking about the factory service manual.

Here:

But maybe you are in over your head and should take it to the dealer.
