Back from the track a couple hrs back. Went pretty well.
At the track there were many Aston Martins and lotuses (very very fast on the track). 2 Gt3s (fastest on the track today was a red one of one instructor). One Cayman s, one Ferrari (I think 430), one panamera turbo (looked very very heavy on the track). An Alpha Romeo (donno the model tough...I think of some instructor) and a couple well maintained 944's.
That was the exotic list...not all

This is wat happened at FATT:
I was looking for an instructor (Phil particularly) but in the mean time a guy named Ron asked me if he cud be my instructor. He was good. He drove my car for 3 laps and then he let me drive. I was sooo soooo crappy at getting the line the first session. I was not even too fast. Then a skid pad session...had good fun. Followed by session 2 which was a little bit better than session one I was hitting more than a couple apexes. (but not too many). I also cud smell my brakes after this session.
After lunch I did session 3 with a new instructor (Coz the first instructor said he was tired). BTW...I did not get a chance to jump into any instructor's car coz my instructor had a friend there in other group . I tried to find another instructor who was alone and he said he wud pick me up after a couple of laps and did not care to see me later but I still was waiting with my helmet for him, all that time, to come back and grab me . OK, that aside session 3 went very good the new instructor (Bill McFairlands) gave me very good instructions and I listened to him as much as I cud...and I thought I did well.(but still did not hit not all the apexes..only the easy ones). After that, I put the printed circuit in front of me and tried to memorize all the turns and the line.(very tricky circuit...so had a very tough time).
Fourth session was very slow the first lap...and I got very good results (but I still was not very good at the "hook" and the "corkscrew"...actually I was very bad). Then I picked up some speed. And by the end of the fourth session I cud do almost all the turns properly but not in a single lap. So the instructor said all I have to do is to memorize all the lines when he said "good/perfect"...from all the laps...join them together and stick to it and increase speed lap by lap.
All in all it was good....but I am going to be in group 1 the next time too. I think I will need many more track days to jump to the next level.
I got few point-bys but had to give a lot. I got many point-bys in the 3rd session. One from a porsche too :D. Had to give a lot of point-bys in the 4th session coz I tried to be slow the first few laps to stick to the line consistently. The car, even if stock, did very well on the straights too...not to mention the corners.
Forgot 2 quarts of oil at the track
I followed almost all the suggestions you guys gave me (04Green, wanklebolt and the other guys)....the car did well...did not heat up too much...brakes did well too except on the last couple laps on the last 2 sessions. I checked the oil level after each session and it did not go down by much so did not need to add any oil at all. (and so forgot that I took oil to the track )
Thats it for now..shall update if I forgot anything interesting. (Ooh and the instructors laps were fun to watch...of course the parts of the track that are visible from the parking area.)
