^very true man if your buddy doesnt have some of these "simple" answers....well you be the judge!

I have the support of Shadycrew 9k and the rest of the SARX crew and all the knowledge that comes with them.....without it I would up **** creek without a paddle (and I am a very technical, hands on guy, with a **** ton of tools)

not trying to beat you down, just wanting to ensure you get back in that "oh so fun to drive car I miss so much" ASAP

can I rent someones car for 30min....need a fix....lmao

It's not always that smart to tackle a build without knowing what to buy and how to determine what works and what doesn't.
You clearly lack this knowledge, so does your "buddy" since you're wasting time asking here and didn't resort to him in the first place.
O no doudt I know im wasting my time here asking , only sometimes and right now my buddy is tackling 2 engine swaps 1 was his own that he was trying to get done by today to race tonight and he coudlnt since his son got hurt real bad at work and wont be able to walk for 3 months or so , So right now im not mentioning no engine no work no rebuild no nothing and just been their for him, And I love to ask questions the more I know when I open engine up the better it is, My buddy told me once engine is open he will tell me what I need, I just get anxious on price Im prepare for anything but Im trying to zike my self and hoping it will be cheaper than I thought so I can continue dumping more money on my RX3..v

And his engines the one he builts have been great, I seen his dailies and track car move nicely and guess what,, PASS AFTER PASS AFTER PASS AFTER PASS AND PASS AND NEXT EVENT AND PASS, so his doing something right .

Pass after pass as in drag cars? If he's building a street renesis with that criteria i'd say that he's doing something wrong instead.

Btw, an "expensive"\comprehensive rebuild costs around 4000$ in parts without going crazy with expensive bits. Start from there and hope to spend less.

Holy grammar, that was painful to read.

by my understanding and thats me and my friends from PR.. and guys I've met in the 16 years I been around rotary if all internals are the same , Rotors ,eshaft, balance etc , you wont need a balance ( well is your call ) if your not going over 9-10 rpms ,, My cousin rebuilt a engine 13b bridged it , Nos it last summer and kicked *** many months In the Chicago area . Was daily and track car , He is going Turbo On his Rx2 and bought ALS seals for his Engine and he is defently going to balance since he knows he is going to boost all he can ..

He dont even Know what a Forum is .. or Face Book or nothing he lives in his garage since we were 16 years old messing with Rotaries, he has even been called to the Mazda dealers to check out cars for them only if customers seem ok,

So I have never balanced my previous none Renessis Rotary engines and they been great for a long long time, Miles unknown,

Good luck with built and hope it turns out great .

sorry I sound slow Im typing from my phone while customers talk to me LOL

dude I think your intentions are good and all--but you have been posting here a little while and you should know by now that the rx8 engine is a different animal. When it come to building them, there are things that you have to do differently. So by saying how great other engines are doing --it really doesnt
relate to us.
I dont understand why some folks think that no balancing is required? Can someone explain that to me?

I don't think Brian (BDC) can dynamically balance the engine...it takes specialize equipment that is quite expensive. Not sure who can do it out there.....I'm sure Mazmart can...

If it is so important why don't more ppl offer it (equipment $ I assume)

I was going to say the same thing but I'm staying out of this argument till I hit 40k..

So ill post in like 2 years...

And if I don't make it to 40k then we know it was needed. Along with new housings and lapped irons.

yea, I am in houston now and tomorrow we are going to do a formal measurment of the e-shaft.

I think the balancing will be worth doing just for informational purposes. "How balanced is a (or mine) reman assembly???"

gonna have to see how the budget plays out at that point in time.

Start by weighing your rotors, I am curious how close they are in weight.

It should be fine to just determine the weight difference between the two rotors. I need to get a proper scale.
