Hey Del--
Be glad to and i understand what you are saying. To me a positive pressure pump is a pump that delivers a "fixed" amount of gas/water/oil --whatever. Just like my twinscrew supercharger.
My point is there are things that can influence the amount that is delivered and things that can be done to influence how that amount is presented/used. My analogy using the water facet was probably a poor one - i did not explain it well enough. positive pressure is not the same as positive displacement, but if a PD pump is programed to deliver x amount and you change the way that is delivered (say small pipe versus bigger pipe) different things occur. Just thinking about which is best.
Keep me on my toes friend--my old mind does have a tendency to get things mixed up. thank God for spell check also.

OK OD we agree, but I still sense you want to hang onto the concept of better oil distribution with a slightly larger weep hole. Do the math. I did and there is only a small fraction of an oil drop introduced into the chamber before it is swatted by an apex seal. Don't talk to me about old young fella!

Sorry, yes, I misspoke—meant to say "oil cooler SCREENS". I have them but they make me nervous, and I've contemplated removing them. Essentially I'm betting that the chance of losing an oil cooler to a rock is greater than the chance that oil cooling is reduced enough to cause engine problems. But I could be wrong…

So many people are afraid of the oil cooler / ac condenser screens... To that I ask - how well does air flow through the coolers themselves? The screens would have to be pretty restrictive to have any measurable effect on airflow...

I have had the screens on since 6/2006 (54,000 miles) with no issues. I have a real oil temp gauge also.

hi thanks for the reply before. New question (for me at least), with gas prices the way they are I'm only putting in half a tank and running until its between a empty and 1/4. My question is should I only be premixing 2oz instead of 4oz? Or perhaps 4oz every other time I fill my tank half up.

My god, doesn't anyone here feel the pinch? I guessing your all millionaires? If you fill up twice a week at $63 ($4.20 premium/15gallons) your paying $6552 worth in gas!! Almost $2000 more a year then with $3 gas. Seems like the majority here hasn't even considered changing their driving habits,(red line! red line! red line! 14mpg FTW!!!) and god forbid someone suggests they are driving a bit more conservatively....out comes the Prius pic. (even though it would like like 10yrs to actually save any money if ya traded in) [/rant]

And thats not directed solely at you StealthTL.

yes,

high gas prices hit everyone the same..

the answer is 2oz everyfill up. but you are losing money. if you fill up the tank it will be cheaper than the next price increase..

One last questions on premix. I was told to get at least something with TC-W3 certification, so I bought a bottle of Havoline 2 stroke TC-W3 but I was searching and found this post from StealthTL saying thats no good. What is the deal with premix? SHould I just go get FP Plus or MMO?

cant give you the answer you want.. but dont get confused.. fp+ is a fuel system cleaner. mmo is a bit of both..

premix is adding 2 stroke oil to the fuel.. i use idemitsu. 4oz per tank. and 2oz of fp+.

stealth knows his stuff..

but i was using royal purple twc 3 before with no issues..

TC-W3 are a cheaper 2 stroke to make and will not protect at high
engine temps.

I think this was posted here somewhere before...Here goes..

ok... ino this may be a dumb question. no it is a dumb question. but for premixing do you actually premix ur gas in a jerry can then fill up or do u just put the oil in first then gas when you azre at a gas station?

once again i feel dumb but must know

i have changed my method. i used to put a gallon or two in then put in the premix.

then fill it up..

now i am putting the 2oz of fp1 and 4oz of premix into a 1 liter bottle and filling that up.

at 6 gallons i dump that in....

icic... i filled up last night and on my way to the gas station i picked a 1L of motocraft tcw3 high performance 2 stroke oil. i used about 200 ml and then fillled my tank up. now i guess i wait and see how she runs, and my mpg.

According to this expert TC-W3's are for Marine use only...ie ..outboard Motors..
AMSOIL say the same thing.

This is funny on so many levels...

Fill it up and then only run it till 1/2 tank....amounts to basically the same thing....but will keep you from burning your fuel pump out if you run low all the time.

Add the pre-mix based on how much fuel you add every time...so if you are at 1/2 tank....you will need to add 1/2 what you need for a full tank

I took my plugs apart the other day and saw that they were oily "literally" they were wet with oil and had buildup becuse of the excess oil.. i used 1 ounce per gallon of gasoline on 93 octane fuel

i use Shell nautilious tcw-3 Multipurpose 2 stroke oil
its blue and not that burnt black all other 2 stroke oils are

i dipped my plugs in seafoam capped the electrode and shook them up a bit until the water turned brownish and softly brushed the tips
i sprayed some seafoam in the chamber of the rotor meanwhile..

i put my plugs back in and drove around for days until i hit near empty i then filled up but this time for my TOTAL gallons in the car i added 1.5 less ounces
Ex. if i put 7 ounces i would add 6.5 of shell oil

i then drove for 4 days and raised the car up and inspected my plugs they were perfectly fine with no oil residue


and today i ceramic coated my headers and took out the plugs while the coat dried

needless to say they were just as good as when i took them out

Wow, way too much 2 stroke, that is 16 ounces per full tank of gas.

You are using about 3-4 times the quantity of 2 stroke per gallon needed, plus the MOP (metering oil pump) is also adding engine oil into the mix.

No wonder your spark plugs were oiled up, I would suggest you have also shortened the life of your CAT considerably.
