I'll chime in sweatr,
for one thing, in my opinion you are far too thin-skinned when interacting with other members.
For instance, RIWWP did not say you had Tourette's, he said the manner in which you post makes it seem like you do.
Why?
Take your last post for example;
You used insult, insulted and insulting 8 times in one short post.
Your posts tend to ramble and run on where it seems you are posting without thought on how you sound.
You say you didn't know others had a problem with your attachments, yet several members have responded directly to you on multiple occasions to ask you to stop.
You respond like a petulant child.
Maybe you should think about why so many have interacted with you in this way.
Do you think everyone is picking on you?
Maybe you should do some introspective review of your own posts, and try to figure out why.

So I gave Amsoil Saber Pro a try. I used approx 6oz per fill-up from the quarter mark (so right under 1/2 oz per gallon, my usual). And I have successfully fouled my new plugs out in 5k miles.
I'm going to give Idemitsu a try next and go with a slightly lighter mix ratio.

Well, I was using Lucas prior to the Amsoil. But when I posted pics of my plugs after 20k miles Team suggested I tried the Amsoil for better results. Maybe I am just using to much. I also had adjusted my MOP to slightly less (still more than the factory map but less than the map in the tuning section) when I made the switch.
I'm pretty sure a large part of the problem is that I deal with city traffic a lot, plus short trips.

I used to live on the Westbank before we moved to KC.
My 7 mile commute from Harvey to Gretna took twice as long as my 19 mile commute here, mostly interstate driving.
I started using the Lucas semi-syn JASO FD, about 2k miles so far. 6-8 oz to 1/4 tank fillup.
No problems yet, (knock on wood). I'll be sure to post if I have any problems.
I miss Rouse's.
Seafood here is frozen & expensive.

I have been running Amsoil for about two years now with no problems. I tend to run my tank low every once in a while and then run a half tank of fuel with no premix and then go back to the 1/2 once per gallon ratio. I have never had a problem with it. Plugs currently have 10k, took me out at 7k just to look and they looked great. your probably using a bit to much.

I don't see how premixing 6 ounces would foul your plugs in so little miles, maybe you have some underlying issue?
I've been premixing for a year and a half with my previous plugs before I got new ones, and I premix half an ounce per gallon and sometimes more when I auto x our go racing. I was using echo jaso fd synthetic premix, and my plugs looked okay, probably could last a bit longer too.

I might switch back to Lucas, not really sure. Currently I stopped premixing, and been experimenting with my 2 old sets of plugs on cleaning them. You'd be surprise what 90% rubbing alcohol can get off your plugs with a little time. I plan on putting back in my last set, temporarily, and see if they foul out on 4oz of Amsoil, since I still got a few bottles of them left.

The only issues the car currently has are, low compression and a dieing fuel pump.
The low compression is nothing new and I have been below mazda's specs for over a year now. Crazy part is on my recent compression test, I actually gained compression slightly. No starting issues what-so-ever, in fact she starts better hot. And last week I took her out to Pensacola for the weekend (on this trip I discovered the dieing fuel pump, lean spikes on WOT below 1/3 a tank only). 2 Guys with 3 days worth of crap, including the biggest IceChest I could fit in the trunk filled with goodies, and I got 19mpg with the a/c on while driving in a manner I can not post on here.
Other data---
115k miles, engine was last replaced in 08' @ 47k
Cooling system has been upgraded, All hoses replaced with Silicone (including all the little ones) FAL 490 fans (3k cmf), Koyo dual core aluminum rad. (And it's freaking awesome at keeping temps down!)
All other mods should be in my sig.

I think it's safe to say on a healthy rx8 6 ounces to a full tank wouldn't cause an issue with spark plugs.
Now on a engine with low compression maybe due to carbon build up? Can't really say much... Premix could maybe loosen up the carbon or is causing it to burn easier and therefore fouling your plugs? Who knows...

Well after my trip to Pensacola (no mix) I checked the plugs and they had the "brown" stuff starting to build up on them. But I honestly can not drive like that everyday as much as I would love too, it's just not doable in my area. Plus they still looked like total ****. (pic below, L1)
I might go grab a ultrasonic cleaner from harbor freight and see if that cleans them...
Define... "Granny driving", normal shifts are 4-5k, I usually redline 2nd and 3rd gear in the mornings. In the afternoons though... normal shifting is around 3k (traffic) in the streets.
I never put her in gear till the coolant is between 100-130*f. My cold rev limiter is set at 135*@3.5k rpms. I have always ran GTX 10w40 or 20w50 (This includes my 3 prior FC's), never had a issue or a engine failure. I change the oil like religion @2k miles or sooner.
Right over 5k miles on these plugs....

Hey Furry, that looks weird, but the electrode looks clean. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than I can offer an opinion.
When I pulled my bad plug, it almost looked like the contact was welded to the electrode.
*edit* mine was bad at 19k, but it could have been bad longer as I ran it for a while with misfires. Got it at 18k, coulda been bad even then. Don't know if previous owner premixed.

I know this issue has a lot of opinions pro and con on premix. The thread has now been running for 9 years. I am wondering if there is any good documentation that shows
1. Premix is extending engine life
2. Premix is harming engine life, or
3. It really does not help or hurt.
I have a 2005 with 39,000 miles and drive short distances each day. I do get the car out once a week and redline it a few times. Just to clear it.

There is only anecdotal evidence so far that proves premix dose anything. Oil choice and change intervals seem to have a greater impact. I still feel that premix is a good idea and gives an amount protection that you may miss out on without and that's a seat of the pants guess. All of the failures I have seen are great in nature and not the result of normal internal wear. Of course that is debatable as well.
In the end and from my own personal experience I recommend a good oil, short change intervals and a small amount of premix of high quality.

We don't need no stinkin documentation!
I have seen conflicting posts citing different studies, none reaching a definitive conclusion that I can recall, and I have paid close attention.
However, like most things in this world some people seem to have reached a conclusion, and work back to find anecdotal evidence to substantiate their views.
I started premixing about 2500 miles ago, so I don't really know much yet.
I have the impression that my 8 is running better, but it could be the placebo effect.
Feel free to research the threads and then let us know if you formulate an opinion.
Which it all is anyway.

The only evidence I have seen having been a part of a few engine rebuilds is that consistent use of premix makes clean up after a tear down easier and that is about it. It does nothing to increase longevity. But until some real scientific testing is done and the results are released, we are all just guessing. I don't premix, I run a SOHN because injecting clean two stroke instead of used engine oil just makes sense to me.

In the "trouble shooting" section of the owner's manual for the world's largest commercially available vibrating ***** it says "more lube solves most problems" - and I'm one to believe that statement can be applied to most things in life .
There are only 2 things I've seen reasonable evidence for in regards to pre-mix:
1) "softer" carbon deposits
2) Some RX8 race teams claim heavy pre-mix (> or = to 1 oz/gallon) nets you a consistent 1 whp increase on the dyno (not that I'm advocating pre-mixing at this ratio for street use)
I've put the word "reasonable" in italics because the "documentation" that I've seen regarding these issues would never make it into a peer-reviewed journal. There are simply too many uncontrolled variables to be able to interrupt the results with any degree of certainty.
Since I own a series 2 and can't do SOHN mod, I do the next best thing and pre-mix. But I'll be the first one to admit that I have no hard numbers to base my decision to do so on - but it helps me sleep at night so it's worth the extra $1 per fill up in my eyes.

Replaced the plugs yesterday. (Pic attached)
They look wet, because I ran seafoam thru the engine, while it was sitting/soaking, I removed the plugs and put the old set in. Waited about an hour, blew all that crap out. Then put the new plugs in. She running silky smooth again. Still off the juice (Premix). Probably going to go back to Lucas since I know I can get 20k out the plugs using that. Heading to Harbor freight to try and buy that ultrasonic cleaner and see if I can get these plugs clean.
