are you going to ban all those who insulted me here in the first place?

"Your stupidity is getting tiresome" was from Chad to me. I was re-quoting him back. Are you going to ban him?

"you are completely ignorant" is mild in comparison to what some of your buddies have been calling me. Are you ticking them off as well?

"oh a trolling I will go".... is a JOKE!....don't you get it? (Pythonesque humor, in case you wondered)

by the way, are you a resident of Alberta??

You have something to say & a point to make - be respectful, and if you disagree on facts, prove them wrong.

Insults and pejorative comments hurt your reputation, disinclining folks to take you seriously.

.....and leave me out of it.

there is nothing wrong with Chad, Stealth or whoever's comments. Cuz they were right, you are ignorant, wrong, and hmm, simply a moron.

You know why ? Cuz you ignored proven facts.

instead of "man up" and accepting facts, you love to google around for "bullshit" answers thats on your side. hell, even the crap you post is not totally on your side.

Its just like there are people on earth who still believes that the earth is actually Flat. no matter how many proven facts we show them "The earth is not ******* Flat, its ROUND". they still said its Flat. well. you're acting just like them.

So yeah, I guess your business here is done. Go believe in your "earth is Flat" theory.

The rotary engine burns oil "by design" as Mazda et al have not achieved the holy grail of apex seal materials technology and thereby fine tolerances present in modern piston/ring engines (ceramic apex seals are superior, but very expensive). Of course piston engines have enjoyed far more and widespread design refinement over time. Hopefully the 16X will be another step forward.

Soooo.... for the time being pre-mix is very good insurance, especially on series I RX-8's.

Thank you, this thread is cluttered to the point where its useless.

Anyway, I have been premixing Lucas Semi synthetic for the past couple of weeks in the gas and the smoke and stank has been drastically reduced during warm up.

Now I am at odds as to whether or not to resume my use of Lucas UCL in the gas and Lucas in the SOHN.

Seems like you have gotten yourself a good premix. Lucas is a good product.

If I was using UCL (excellent lube - ultra-slippery and isobutylene based, so burns completely and has a mild cleaning effect) in the gas, I would not mix it with anything else.

I had issues with the filter sock plugging off when I mixed the UCL with anything else.

For what it's worth......

good advice, but I don't think there is a problem if the "other" product is run through a sohn/
they really don't mix in the gas. that's the reason I like it.

Guess we will be hearing from tejon

I would not mix MMO in every oil change, only if you are looking to clean your engine. If so, 1 QT MMO and drive it hard. The MMO would burn off pretty quickly so you would really need to keep your eye on your oil level.

I've ordered Idemitsu over 2 weeks ago along with brakes(which I kind of need now) and a few oter items from Mazdatrix and I still haven't received anything. On top of that, they never respond to my emails.

Once I get the Idemitsu, I am planning on mixing 4-6 oz of idemitsu and 1-2 oz FP Plus(already have this). I'm not using Sohn and I have a cat. I will report on smell, exhaust tips and smoke once I use it for a couple tank fulls. Hopefully Mazdatrix sends it to me ASAP

I am taking a fairly conservative approach to my MY09. I use 1oz of FP+ per tank and add 1-2 oz of Amsoil Saber Pro every once in a while. Also using 10w40 Royal Purple.

How's your starting performance with the synthetic?

The S2's "shouldn't" need a lubricating premix although I would venture to guess a light cleaner would still be needed. FP+ is suppose to turn carbon into a graphite lubricator.

We won't know if the S2's "need" premix for another couple years. Better safe then sorry though. You might want to start adding Amsoil every tankful and skip a tank when the bottle runs out.

.
The rotary will ALWAYS need some lubrication inside the combustion chamber no matter how good the materials used are .
The piston engine never has needed it . It only needs the cylinder walls lubricated on the NON combustion side of the piston .

As of my last tank of fuel I'm now a pre-mixer as well. Since my RX-8 is on it's original engine (only has 31,000 miles) I figured I'd do this just as an extra added measure. The engine itself feels plenty healthy and fires up hot or cold with no issues so I'm not worried about it being bad, I just want to take all the extra steps I can to keep it running good. I'm mixing with Idemitsu (6-8oz a tank depending on how empty it was) and giving it a good flogging daily as well to try to keep the insides clean.

Here's to hoping this thing stays healthy for a while to come!

No starting problems yet. I'm just hoping that RP will keep things cleaner and help with engine cooling at the track.

Yeah, can't hurt to run some premix just in case the OMP isn't providing enough oil.
