I've been thru so many iterations of tunes and software I seriously wouldn't know what to show him.

If it is to prove / disprove the APs ability to disable it then that is a total waste of my time, especially with the umpteen testimonials in this thread alone.

The only call out is that you must go thru Jeff as Consumer ATR does not expose the limiter map.

Or get an Adaptronic that takes control of fuel and ignition entirely.

Like I said you guys are touchy.

I already have a 07 6spd auto.

I just want to see how much power it gives stock, and how much it gives with a tune.

Very simple idea.

I'm not about to change my tune especially with the great gas mileage I get.

Now if you disable it by doing the 10sec hold then thats when you have no limiter if im correct in saying. that is how i have gotten my 8 past 124mph

This makes sense, and sounds like the easy solution.

I know this is a pretty old thread. But I just wanted to chime in that today I found out my 07 6AT had the 125mph speed limit on the way home from Vegas to LA.

So my question now is... does the Cobb AP really take care of this?

As someone else have stated, at 5th there is still a good amount of RPM till the 7500rpm redline... and you can totally feel a fuel cut once it touches 126. It was doing it every time it wants to go beyond 126.

It does and the consumer version of ATR for 2006+ autos now allows you to modify it. Previously you'd have to rely on a tuner with the Pro version of the software to take care of it for you, which is still the case for 2004-2005 autos.

i just bought a 2007 AT with 50k miles for 11.7k

i would imagine that an 04 would be a lot less especially if it were to have a lot of miles.

Any way you cut it this thread is full of fail
So at the 7500 rev limit what is your speed in 3th gear, and what is your speed in 4th gear?

funny people always say to me you dont need powerful engine you are just driving as fast as a Prius on the road.
seems like people always have no clue between speed and acceleration.
I doubt you gonna hit 125mph that regularly unless you doing some drag racing.
0-60 is more realistic.

Fast and really, really fast?

I forgot all about that post. I made that observation after being on a dyno seeing my MPH a bit over 125 mph a couple years back and naively assumed I didn't have a limiter.

I later figured out that MM had already moved it to like 200 mph.

6 spd auto 3rd gear cut (7500 rpm) approx 93mph depending on amount of tread on tire.

Worn tire is approx 2 % smaller diameter than new.

I have a 6speed AT with MM's tune.

He bumped my redline to 8600 rpm and also removed the fuel cut at 125.
I hit 135 just last week.

this is just for everyone to know, cause i see people say that A/Ts do and don't have a limiter. THEY DO, i just got done doing a run, my 8 is an A/T 6 speed and it did cut off at 125mph, i even felt the cut-off point to where there was no more positive G-force. I was in 4 gear when this happened at 7.2k rpm (pretty close to the rev limiter if i do say so myself). so yes the A/Ts have a speed limiter .

I will eventually tune it for no rev limit and speed limiter.

Cobb AP help

Hey guys, I bought an AP from mazdamaniac that wasn't compatible with my rx8 which is the jap version 4 speed auto. I was told by Jeff to send some kind of dump file which the AP generated when I connected it to my car. Jeff was supposed to get back to me since Last year and I haven't heard from him since I think he is unable or uninterested in helping me out. Is there anyone who would be able to help me with getting this AP to work with my 2006 jap 4spd Auto? If so how much would it cost?

Thanks in advanced guys

You are screwed with both the AP and MM.

Sell the AP on this forum (it does have good resale value) and buy Mazdaedit personal.

Hey all! Check out my vid, you can see the fuel cut at 125. Approx 7500 in 4th on a 2006 6 speed AT. Already tuned with Cobb, but have never asked Mazdamaniac about removing the fuel cut.

There is a 125 mph speed limiter on all auto models. why? I don't know.

but it can be easily removed with the right soft/hardware
