i got the limiter as well. i got to 126 but it backed down to 125 in 5th at about 5500 rpm.

i talked to PTP.. they told me version 3.. They have to special order it from japan. But its guranteed to work....

Smart car with the hayabusa engine and I'm sold. Thing smokes a F430(?) and runs something like a 12.2. And that engine isn't modified - just transplanted .

I'd have too many laughs with that little *** car revving to 14k like nothing and blowing the doors off of 97% of the cars on the average road.

04 4AT born 11/03 here. I do know that the 04 JDM 8's have the limiter... but this is the first I've heard about US models having it. I wouldn't mind hearing/reading Cobb's take on it...

But then I can count the times on one hand that I've had enough road, and piece of mind, to push these speeds. My 1990 Plymouth Laser topped out 109 and with its turbo had about 40 more hp than my little AT renesis. Even though I'm happy I can go past 125, just getting there is plenty for this old fool.

 

well when I talked to PTP today, they said they "think" that Cobbs will automatically remove the speed limiter.

 

its all about smart cars man! soon your gonna see them every ware. stick to your rx8 cuz its gonna be rare by the time 2012 hits. i think thats when all vehicles must be 30mpg or higher. i think im wrong but its somthing like that/

 

how many here drive at high speeds with DSC/TSC on and stop @ 125 mph?

 

Mazdamaniac will contact Cobb, but We believe that it could be in the TCM (Transmission Control Module) . Which in that case there is no way of over riding it.

JDM and Eurospec have a 4port 5 speed MT that you can remove the limiter from.

The last time I tried it was with the DSC and TC on in my TI. But the WWP I had did not have DSC. It had TC. But it wouldn't go above 125 either. Both 05's.

 

My 09 dies at 125... What is the point of speed limiting an AT but not an MT? Really doesn't make any sense.

Adding insult to the whole thing is my buddies TL is limited to 155

 

yeh it sucks becuz one time i had someone in my rearview mirror goin about 125 mph.. next thing you kno my limiter came on, and they passed me.... if u kno what i mean.

All AT models have a speed limiter.
The 2006 - 2008 is limited to 124 MPH in all gears except 1st, which is limited to 112 (which I doubt it can hit in 1st without hitting the rev limiter).

The AccessPORT can fix that, BTW.

yup... AP definitely solves the speed limit problem for ATs
