As promised...

The first picture is of the PTP manifold. Notice that there are no holes directly above the exhaust ports. This is because the PTP manifold does not incorporate the SAIP.

The second picture is of the backside of a SAIP flange cut from an OBX exhaust. Notice the channel for the air to travel through as it is pumped into the manifold and ultimately the exhaust ports.

The third picture is basically what the SAIP flange would look like if it were incorporated into the PTP manifold.

The 4th picture is of the Air Control Valve and the tube that connects the air control valve to the SAIP manifold flange.

The 5th picture is of the Air Pump...and my finger. Man, I need to cut my nails....

So in conclusion...if you go with a header/manifold that does not have the SAIP incorporated it should not cause you any problems because the holes in the exhaust ports are blocked by the manifold. However, if you don't use the emanage ultimate with the turbo upgrade harness you will probably get a CEL because the A/F ratio will be too rich at startup.

Thank you for elaborating. Another question though.. what does the Ultimate do? Does it trick the ECU into reading the correct A/F ratio, or does it shut the pump off?

the greddy attaches the air pump to the dump pipe doesn't it? would it be easier to do it that way?

Easier than what?
Usually, not doing something is easier than doing something.
Since the air pump is just an emissions device and its feedback to the PCM is easily spoofed, there really isn't any good reason to attach it if you don't have to.
I've got mine plumbed into my downpipe, but I was looking to keep as much stock functionality in place as I could when I was fabbing my system.
There really isn't any reason for Tommy to do this unless he wants to keep those parts in the engine bay.

Jeff is exactly correct. It would take some fabrication to my manifold to incorporate the air pump. I origionally looked into doing this and that is why I have that OBX flange. Thanks to GTAW! Now that I know I can get around using the air pump system I don't really want those components in my engine bay. Especially since they are located right next to the downpipe and manifold where it gets really hot. I want to get as much stuff out of there as possible but still retain an OEM like driving experience.

easier than exactly that. I thought you were going to weld the obx flange on and thought it wasn't a good way to do it.

It would be too easy and I didn't even have to click on the photo.

Are you doing the thermal bypass, too?

Where did you get the item in the second picture? Did it come from Mazmart also?
