When I put mine up for sale a year ago, I had a buyer with Paypal money in about 4 hours. You have to watch the classifieds like a hawk to really have a chance.
And keep in mind that you can get a new MazdaEdit Personal license for about the same price as a used AP.

So a couple corrections.
While a little pricey the Adaptronic Select is very viable, and even with its handful of quirks is by far the easiest for the average Joe.
Since it is MAP based you don't have to recirculate the BOV but I recommend doing so regardless.

The Select is a piggyback. The only standalone Adaptronic is the e1280 (I think) and would require mondo work and $$$ to work.
The difference between the Select and the emanage is that the Select takes over fueling 100% so the Mazda ECU can't trim it out.

Hmm...
the Adaptronic page says piggy back (at a standalone price) Adaptronic Plug-In Select ECU for Mazda RX8 03-08 | Adaptronic
Turblown here says standalone: https://www.rx8club.com/vendor-class...ne-ecu-231767/
Is there another one i'm not seeing?

Yeah I have noticed they move quickly. Unfortunately, I think I missed out on the one Bennett posted because I forgot to check Saturday afternoon lol.

Completely understandable.
There are a number of different Adaptronic units but only one applies to us if you plan on keeping your stock loom, gauges, etc -- That one is the Select for RX8 which is a piggyback in the sense that it is plugged inline with the stock ECU. However a number of functions, namely the ignition and fuel tables, the Adaptronic has full control over. The stock ECU will try to build STFT and LTFT but those values are ultimately ignored.
There are a whole range of standalone Adaptronics…. the 420c, 420e, 440, and 1280e… please verify the actual model #s I may be a number or letter off here and there. Each of these are remarkable standalone ECUs and increase in features as you progress higher into product line. The 420 is the "value" version and the 1280 is a beast that can control the most complicated of setups (
).
Hope this helps,
Shell
