slash128's Top Mount Build
Its no GoPro, but it gets the job done. This was my first time with this cam and I was nervous with all the cables, etc, and eased into it, so it was a weak run. Only hit 217% load. Suffice to say 15psi has not been a problem. Unfortunately, after uploading to YouTube the gauges are unreadable, argh... I will look for a polarizing filter. Log attached.

Ya, it seems to go by quicker in person, heh, trying to focus on gauges, other cars, red & blue, etc...
Here is a link to the raw footage where you can see the gauges. I will work on dialing in the video setup, inside and outside of the car.

Thanks, funny thing is when I went looking to buy I had my mind set on black. They didn't have any on the lot, but they had 2 GT phantom blues so I took one. I'm so glad they didn't have the black
These are iPhone pics. I'd like to get out with the DSLR soon. Though I have several blemishes that need attention. I try to avoid them in pics. One was self inflicted and most people don't notice it but it jumps out at me every time and I cry a little inside.

So the eBay buyer that did the buy-it-now on my coils has been unresponsive. They will likely be available if anyone else is interested. I filed an unpaid item case so if they haven't paid by Saturday they will be up for grabs.
can you hook up an external mic to your camera? I got one for my gopro and I love the sound quality. It's so much better than using the internal mic on the gopro. This way I don't get all that wind noise either. Pretty cool setup if you ask me. I have it ran through my car out the trunk and attached to the license plate.

not sure about filters/deadcat question...sorry
Here's a couple more videos and logs. The 2'nd gear log is botched at the beginning, so no good in VD (I didn't wait long enough for the AP to initialize logging before hitting the pedal). The interesting thing to note in the 2'nd gear log is that I pegged the MAF voltage for quite a bit and no wormhole opened up. The g/s also flatlined and things started to go lean at the very end, so I am pretty much at the limit of what I can do at this point without going to a larger diameter MAF housing. My timing has been getting pulled less as well. Anyway, I am really happy with the results. BUT, I have become curious just how much boost a stock Renesis can handle...
Raw videos here if you want them.
Oh ya, and VLED 6K corners

I've been looking into larger mafs just in case I ever need one. it seems as if there is a 3.75 inch maf available for the Subaru's that we could retrofit. I have it saved in my bookmarks but I'm at work and can't view it right now. I'll post up if interested. I was looking into what the ID was to see if it would give enough headroom. I think the motor could handle more but heat is a big problem. I would look into meth injection for it's cooling properties at higher boost levels. of course this is all speculation on my part...

yomom I think I've seen the same tube you are referencing on eBay. I will go back and look... I remember seeing one that seemed to have the right footprint and dimensions for our sensor but in a slightly larger tube. I think there was even a honeycomb straightener built in...
if brettus is correct, I think machining the maf will allow the headroom you are searching for. This will still keep as much resolution as possible for the maf. I would go meth before larger maf but since the larger maf is not a lot of money it can possibly be done at the same time?
Regarding timing, I think I am becoming convinced the severe timing I was seeing getting pulled was largely caused by the passenger motor mount going bad. The weight was resting on the tab. I shimmed it up and the problem has since been a lot less pronounced. Instead of seeing as much as 5 degrees as pulled before, I now only see maybe 1 to 2 degrees. It could be the knock sensor doing its job, but I am still suspect of the vta wg noise falsely triggering the sensor.
