I think what you are describing would be a PIA . How far past the maf does your BOV recirc tube enter the intake?
Ya I agree it would be a PIA but was just thinking about it. I would have to pull the bumper to get a precise measurement, but I believe the bypass back into the intake from the BOV is about 3 linear feet from the MAF. In this pic you can see the location of the MAF and the 1" nipple back into e intake pre compressor. The BOV is directly post compressor. I've read both views of placement pre TP vs pre IC. It's the design of the PTP kit so I left it and so far it's been fine.

Not turbo related but next issue to deal with are my freaking AKE keys. I am down to one reliable key. Mazda wants over $400 for a replacement and programming! I wish I could just yank the AKE system out and have a normal key

slash, i believe it is the tune if it's like that. it happens to me alot, but i use interceptor, so EMS might make it a different scenario..
what i think happens is that when you are in boost, the computer adds fuel according to the air entering the engine (the vacuum level is getting higher and AFR is richer), then all of sudden you let go the throtle, which it closes the incoming air into the engine (lower vacuum probably -25 to -30) AFR lean, but some fuel still get left behind, plus the heat of the exhaust, it creates pop sounds..or sometimes from pop to the fire..i might explain it wrong,lol..

it is cool i think, nothing will do bad to the car..

I think its the BOV location,

the BOV opens the turbo pressure and pre intercooler pressure is gone, but the post intercooler pressure is still high so that last bit either goes backwards to vent the bov or charges past the throttle plate, creating a small burn that keeps the turbo spinning enough for the maf to read its getting more air, and injects more fuel then what gets past the throttle plate. all this happening in a split second.

that's my reasoning at least

Yeah .... it sounds like an idiosyncrasy of that layout . Something to do with the air having to change direction perhaps
You might be able to lessen it by taking fuel out in the load areas below 40% in the higher rpm range.

For the flat credit card style key? Local dealer quoted $284 for the remote, $79 for the metal key insert at $45 to program. $408

I hear you slash....I just use my metal key. I really need to get a new set but like you just mentioned, EXPENSIVE! I just keep buying car parts and putting it off.

No worries, thanks for the suggestions! Even just getting just the key alone is $79 plus programming. The key itself has a chip in it. I had a key made and it turns the tumbler but won't actually start the car argh. I figured if I'm gonna go deep I might as well go all in If there was an affordable way to rip out the whole advanced keyless/immobilized system I would do it and have regular keys with an alarm.

I've pretty much decide to get it done at the end of the month. My biggest problem is having to drive well over an hour to the nearest Mazda dealer
Good luck with yours slash

Ya I was thinking about that. I found some diagrams and the AKE system is pretty tightly integrated. It definitely looks possible, but could be a substantial level of effort. I will probably dig deeper into it.

You are most likely much better off spending the money on a key. After you waste all the time trying to figure it out and implament a plan you will have just wished you spent the extra money.

Exactly. I have been looking at the diagrams and that's why in my previous posts I said I wished there was an "affordable" way and that it would probably take "substantial effort" I will probably just get a key short term, but I like to tinker, so I still plan on noodling on it.

I know, I know! Can't do a dyno if the car is "immobilized"!

That's legit, I believe it. As much as I believe any dyno program that is.
