yeah I have ran a few throught the driver side grommet but there is not enough room to run it all through there. plus I would rather have all the gauge and Turbo stuff through the same spot. And thanks for the responces gregs,talic, and Ngorx8

 

well i started the wiring and im about half way through it. does anyone know how to or even how easy it is to get the unused buttons out where the DSC button is. I am wanting to put switches in the 2 unused ports.

 

Don't forget about the spot near the washer bottle that is just covered with tape that is painted the color of the car. Use an awl and poke around on the firewall, you will find it.

 

i used a small flathead screwdrvr and they popped right out. just be careful so u dont damage the trim around it

 

awesome i just wanted to make sure they werent screwed into some kind of bracket behind them before i started prying. thanks 9k but i already drilled a 1 1/4" hole behind the washer bottle that the others talked about. everything is ran in aside from the tubing for the boost controller.

Don't mean to high jack the thread. I've looked at as many rearmount turbo setups.and all ways thought the same thing. I've see thin wall tube that is oblong just think of it as square with two round sides. I've seen it in all sizes but couldnt u just run a 1x4=little more then 2 inch or a size like that to the front. shouldnt hang to low?Would that be a bad idea?

 

anything will work but how well is a different story. i would think square tube would have more friction because of the corners even though they are semi rounded. also depending on how you do turns and such you could have lots of turbulence and hurt flow with sharp bends. there is a reason why everyone uses pipe beyond just the car world and not square tube(physics).

I used all long radius bends and did not egg shape or oval any part running 2.5" o.d. aluminum from the rear to font of the car. I have built 2 of these systems one on my car not running and one for someone elses though i havent heard if they changed over to my pipping on their running car.

if your worries are ground clearance your rear diff. sits as low and any of my piping. the only thing i have ever scraped on my car is the gt spec bracing one time which is roughly 3/4-1" lower than the piping. this is lowered on d-spec shocks and swift springs(in the process of going to coilovers).

on another note i would think the pricing on material would be much higher and then you would have to find someone that could bend anything like that which would be additional cost.

 

I don't think air flows straight through a tube. But, it more swirls as it moves. Like water going down a drain. If this is true, then a square tube would impede the flow of the air.

 

yes you are correct it does swirl. like you stated with the water, in plumbing as far as drains they count on the swirling action to keep stuff from building up on the inside of the pipe and cloging. you can even witness this in person by flushing the toilet.

 

you are confusing linear vs turbulent flow conditions as well as differences in density, compressibility etc.

it's possible for large radius elbows to impede flow rather than improve it

 

please Team go into it on the engineering side of using square tube. this is going beyond my knowledge and experience I know some of the basics which I deal with and little from a science/engineering side.

also when I say long radius its 4-4.25" on 2.5" which is the tightest a mandrel would bend.

 

Would any one be willing to talk to me one on one about rear mount turbo sizing and fuel needs etc. I ve looked around on this web site alot and have a few questions befor I start buying parts etc.

 

most of what you are asking has been talked about in this here thread. turbo sizing has also been covered a bit here and other turbo thread about what is optimal for the renny. Just a hint if i would have waited afew monthsi would have bought a different turbo so if anyone wants to buy a new gt35r with .63 and .82 a/r shoot me a pm

 

square tube is inefficient in size in terms of cross sectional area vs the room it takes up

 

So have you got the car up and running yet or are you still putting everything together?

 

everything is together besides fuel pump and wire/tubing inside for the boost controller. all the wires are ran and need to make final connections.

I'm debating on loosing the scoop and leaving the bottom of the intercooler exposed as I have coilovers now and can adjust some height. I may take a look at the injector electric connectors(frogot to check colors on the p2) so if anyone knows let me know if not I can search. I'm close just no desire to work in the cold.

I do not drive the car in the rain. also it would not hurt anything if the intercooler gets wet. if you talking about the air filter I see no issue as people run the aem without the sock and see only a little trouble and with the sock none i have heard of. which were you asking about

 

I was talking about the air filter on the turbo, isn't it pulling in way more air then N/A? so might that be a problem?

 

can someone confirm that my wiring is on the right injectors on my 04 mt. i tried over in the injector info thread earlier with no luck.
FP-White Tape(no wiring colors)
RP-Yellow Tape(no wiring colors)
these come off the same harness i could get wire colors if needed just more work
FS-Blue/Red,White/Blue
RS-Blue/Black,White/Blue
FP2-White/Blue,Blue/Black
RP2-White/Blue,White/Green

I have a 2005, but according to the electrical diagram I use,

FP (Gray/Red;White/Blue)
RP (Gray/Black;White/Blue)
FS (Green/Red;White/Blue)

don't remember the tape colors on the Primaries.

you have the RS, FP2, and RP2 correct, so process of elimination I guess you could conclude that you have it right and its just the FS wiring color on my 05 is different than your 04 as don't have any Blue/Red wires for my injectors.

 

yeah I looked at a 06' diagram and half matched up the other half didnt. so I'm debating on if to go with it knowing half match up on diagrams and what others posted as far as tape colors on the primaries

 

well I'm getting ready to pull the fuel pump. after reading some threads I read I'm supposed to do nothing with the syphon tube and just melt the pressure relief closed. is this correct?
