Dude, I just want to say that I applaud you for your work and appreciate the fact that you are sharing this with us. It would be so easy to get another vehicle that is cheaper/more responsive to FI and make a ton of HP. But I appreciate the fact that you are sticking with the 8 and attempting to optimize it's potential and build it the way YOU like it.
I have considered dumping the 8 but every time I seriously consider it, I drive the 8 and it convinces me to try and get the most out of her rather than getting an M3 or something and starting all over.
It's great to see all the guys that are serious about there cars and willing to take some risks, rather than carbon copy what someone else did.

yeah there are many times i sit and think about the money i have spent and know i could be driving a newer vette, evo, or a m3 like you stated.
It only takes one trip down the windy road and through town to know why it is still in the drive way. It is a rare car and even more rare to have a modded one in my area. I can still pull up to porsche, vette, and other high hp owners and see the drool on some of their faces knowing i would still get killed.
Everyone i know loves the look and most of the stuff i have done to it. In the end the 8 will never leave the drive way. If the motor goes its off to bhr for a rebuild, ceramic seals, and maybe a small port job. Though i am almost done aside from maybe a new set of rims, coilovers, and the mold to make a carbon fiber roof overlay I have enjoyed all the work even when im cussing the car out.
After this is done its on to a set of supercharged or turbocharged jet skis.

^ props. There are quite a few exotics and supercars around here and the fact that I do get the occasional taunt or thumbs up from a Vette or Porsche is all the props I need.
I followed a C6 through a series of turns last weekend right when it got dark and I could see the flames in my rear view as I shifted and when we got to the highway he was pointing at my exhaust and giving me a thumbs up so I guess he could see the huge flamage as well
But either way it was nice to be able to hang with a Vette for a minute or two and get props even though he would have destroyed me had we decided to play on a straight away.
It will be nice to see how serious your car really is after the rear mount is finished.

got everything back from the coater. here's some engine bay pictures. also ran the SOHN res to the adapter with a 4an line just to make sure there will be no leaks. from here on out most of what's left is running wire for the gauges, oil pump, boost controller, and water/Meth. other than that changing the fuel pump. anyone know of a DIY thread?

i brought mine up trough the shifter, its runs directly under the dash and up the steering collum
so i have no exposed wires except behind the guage to the steering collum

I have fed wires through the rubber grommet near the driver side fender, through a hole I made behind the washer bottle, and through the shifter opening above the transmission.
When you take off the washer bottle there is a rectangular outline on the firewall along with a circle in the center of it. Drill through the circle.
