One thing I need some help with (if nobody knows I'll research it) - I'm buying 2 Green N3R1-13-250 S2 injectors and 4 Brown N3R2-13-250 S2 injectors. I want to replace the grommets. Does anyone know what I need? Do they need to match the injectors (S2) or the locations where they'll go in my car (S1)? Should I buy anything else besides the injectors and grommets (I don't think I need anything else)?

Thanks.

Sorry for multiple posts, I'm kind of scatterbrained right now with all the research/ordering I've been doing this week.

If you can offer a little more help, I have a question the Pettit instructions aren't so clear on: Do the 3 vacuum lines that are on the OEM accordion tube right before the throttle body get hooked back up in the same location? In otherwords, will my intake (I'm having one made) need 3 bungs in similar locations along with the MAF mounting flange? See attached.

Also, any idea what's done with that vacuum chamber (?) on the bottom right of the image, also on the accordion tube?

Thanks guys.

They should go in same location, so yes you will need the bungs.

You dont need that MAF mounting flange. Its so tight that you have to wedge in everything. I also had to trim the part of the OEM airbox that stays in it for it so fit in there. Check the pics earlier in the thread of my setup or my user gallery. I believe I only have two vaccum lines coming out of it. I will double check tonite. One goes to the oil catch can so it could be capped if you do not run one and disconnected your secondary air pump

I checked last nite and I only have two vacuum lines running into the MAF inlet tube, I have one of the Pettit MAF tubes

Is your 3rd just a vented catch can rather than going to intake tubing?

I'm going to be using an intake that routes out the front and sites above the crash bar, so I won't be forcing any connections or filters into the OEM filter box area. I don't have the metal Pettit MAF tube (so I can't really look at it to understand what it was intended to do).

I just don't understand all the hose routing yet... it seems like those 3 lines on the intake accordion tube would need to remain there (I'll be using a recirculated catch can so won't be eliminating a return line).

Am I missing something?

I don't want extra unused bungs I won't need on my new intake.

All 3 need to be routed to the intake tube still. You won't change anything from this thread, you WILL need the check valve in the Jet Air Mixing hose since you don't have charge piping with the SC:

Yep, that was on my list to research (already have some bookmarks on it). But I appreciate the link, that thread seems pretty detailed!

The driver side vacuum line is for the catch can. The passenger side goes back into a rats nest of lines behind the supercharger. I'll check the install manual if you need it.

It looks like the metering valves and jet air line are combined by Pettit, but OEM would be two distinct lines. This must be the discrepancy between 2/3 bungs.

The pettit MAF tube I have was only drilled for two vacuum lines. I wonder if the diagram above was because of that or if Pettit preferred to combine those vacuum lines. My kit was running/installed when I got the car so I do not have a comparison with 3 lines

Even those notes are not from me but the prior owner

So not to interrupt this fun intake bung discussion we have going on here, but I was able to start making some headway on my install this weekend. I got a bunch of **** out of the engine bay, got the transmission ready to come out (getting some upgrades), and mostly have ordered everything I'll need to complete my build. Progress!

Looking good. This past weekend I installed one of those honeycomb straighteners to see if it affects anything discernible. Oddly I am running richer under boost but my idle is greatly improved. I wanted to test it before I datalog to have MM retune for the lower boost.

OBLITERX8 if you need any pages from the Pettit install manual, let me know

I'm going with a honeycomb straightener too, glad it works for you.

I have the whole Pettit manual printed out, so should be good to go. But I appreciate the help Keck.

While I'm thinking about it, does anyone know what the hell this black assembly on the rear of the tranny is? It literally touches nothing but the transmission... seems like dead weight. I might remove it?

That's a vibration damper. They decrease certain frequencies of vibrations that the drivetrain makes.
