I'm currently running 4 ea 1000cc Injector Dynamics http://www.injectordynamics.com/ID1000.html on my upper fuel rail. Duty cycle 50~65% max.

Car will be fine dyno tuned on May 18 at Pros (formerly Japtrix) http://www.prostuning.com/ in conjunction with Steve Kan via email dyno log and tuned remotely.

Then to Homestead-Miami Speedway the next day for some NASA HPD3. BTW, no longer mixing VP 110 octane race gas with 93 pump gas. Car will be tuned with and raced from now on with Sunoco 98 octane.

Also, I run the stock RX8 series 1 fuel pump and do have a digital fuel pressure gauge. No drop in fuel pressure noticed whatsoever while a track. I'm using the latest Mazda OEM version of the pump part number N3H1-13-35ZE and it is a direct fit.

hey Galen--did you discover what made that weird sound?

Juan, glad to hear it. Why such large injectors? Better control?
I can share that 98 octane gas can get a little expensive---dont buy gas at the track. Sometimes it is not as good as it is supposed to be. You are going to tune for 98octane?
you got guts

I did tune for pump 93 octane with the ethenol crap. I dont drive hard on the street at all. If I load it up it is always in the 1-2-3 gears--never in any higher gear. Fast rev time seems easier on the engine. IDK for sure?
On track i do run the Torco booster. It does work and it is much easier to carry around than gas. You can get 102 octane with 32 ozs in our 16 gal tank. With 16 oz you get around 96-98 --if I remember right.

hpde 3 --huh--ok then dude!!!
Wish yall could make this w/e at Roebling Road. We have 9 Rx8's there. Another pettit car besides mine ( Levi's)too. He will lose his track cherry There will be about 5 rx8s on the track at the same time in one class.
Its going to be a blast. Cheap too.
i will have lots of vids and will post up one.

levi means oil pressures. He doesnt have the regulator mod in his engine yet and has the oem low pressures showing on his gauge.

Cuz I don't wanna run injectors at 95+ duty cycle at WOT/track event.

My car is NOT a DD car. So why tune for 93. I drive with enough 93 to make it to the track then I pour my own sunoco 98 that I purchased near my house. Don't mind carrying three 5 gal tanks in my car. Although, in case of an accident, I will go down in flames (literally).

ah understand better now.--i wish i had easy access like that. Race gas is better than pump gas with additives. I didnt know you had stopped driving it on the road. Sad
So you look like Mad Max going to the track? lol.
You do only 1 day tracking events?

I didnt know that with your previous larger injectors you where getting to 95% duty cycle. But then again you are running the higher boost set up etc. you are still getting way over 300 to the rw's then--you dog
Now get some tires so you can use that power!
I am to the track in 4 hrs and right now I am useless at work.

I believe I got the MIAC sound because I only did 2 cycles after unhooking the battery before I put my foot in it a lil, never more than 5lbs boost. Like I said I put half throttle getting on the pike to 75mph and when I let off the rattles started.
Scared the hell outta me hearing that for the first time. After several more cycles I stood on it and its like the day I brought it home from Steve Kans shop.

BTW I keep getting the same question at car shows. Just how many Pettit S/C are there running around in the states?

Id say between 60 and 70.

I just finished up the fixture for the front bracket mod. Start saving your money if you want a kit. They should be available mid or late summer, with a 2.1 Kenny Bell.

Just a quik note that I discovered while with the mech that takes blessed care of my 8. When changing oil, leave the filter off. The oil pours in so fast, it doesn't take an hr to pour in now.

Nice going Old Man. Looks like a great clean track. Last NASA FL event this year is first week of October. So, let me know if you guys are heading back in late Oct, Nov or Dec so I can plan a trip to GA.

very true Levi.

Rote8--just had a chance to surf through those logs---i do see some a/f ratios that appear to be a little lean in the higher rpms and maf flow? Throttle was wide open at 66%--a/f was mid 13's?
Is that on purpose?
