This may have some advantages? I am considering locking the ssv open during track events.
I don't think it would really be an issue during track times. You'd be staying above it being closed in the revs, so it shouldn't close anyways. But on the street? I'd say you would lose a lot of velocity under 3,000 rpm. When I think about it, I wonder if the bleed air thingy would be affected? If you had too much air coming into the chamber, maybe the anti-wet port wouldn't work as well? That would open up a whole other can of worms if that was the case....

us Pettit guys idle at 1.1K. No jet air function above .9k per Mazda design.
Dont think intake charge veolicity will be a problem with us twin screw guys? Others I dont know?
I am pretty sure it would have to be tuned for this.

Oh okay. I didn't know if there was a spec on it or not... Thanks for clearing that up! I forgot about the supercharged part... That does change things. Only way to be able to tell would be to slap it on a dyno. With the positive displacement, I could perhaps see it making more power early? It might actually help out a lot. It would reduce low boost, but increase airflow. You would probably see lower charge temps from that.

Still though, it would only really affect sub 3k performance. And how often are we in that?? Hahahah pretty much never.

It does effect idle and does cause stalling issues. I just tried it the other day to see if I could just get rid of the vac tank all together. My idle is at 8 to 900 and smooth, haha. Ill try it again after I put the belt on and can tune and see if I can fix that issue. If not I want that port open at 1000 or 1200 under boost.

So Moon do you think opening the ssv under boost (and not using the oem settings) may be a good thing for us twin screw guys?
I am looking for under the curve power as I still dont like those exhaust ports in the higher rpms. I am thinking about keeping the apvs closed? Period. Redline it at 7.5K?

congrats man!!
Are you going to track too?

What do yall think about opening the ssv with a boost signal and keeping the apvs closed with a redline of 7.5K?

I think it will avoid the little studder when the ssvs open under boost. I'm sure it will also make it better. Keep in mind if you keep those apvs closed forget about the injectors that feed them. You deffinatly don't want a puddle of fuel in your outer runners.

Belt is on, bypass open, did a little drive. Running awsome, feels a lot less lagging then when I had the belt off for sure. Seems to pull harder with it setup this way. I also locked the ssv open and no stalling, bucking or anything bad. I'm light footing it, keeping it under 3000 3500. I can't wait till the box gets here.

HUH? There are no injectors in the APV runners?

LOL--he is thinking about the baby already!

Maybe need to look at keeping the ssv open--tune for it for sure--may not require much-- i just hate relying on mechanical valves in an intake when boost is flowing.
It also may be able to give a little more grunt down low?

Can someone else try locking your ssv open and see what happens? I swear its better on this and I'm not even boosting yet even though I hear a hint of boost. Spun 1st to 2nd shift keeping it under 3500rpm. Didn't do that when that port was closed.

Yes please someone else try this!Makes sense to me.

I just have been informed that the 13B housings can be used with our irons. So you can have a 13 B street ported engine that basically just hooks up to everything we have--sans header of course.
I am going to speak with Cam about this. May be part of my answer?

Why would you want to use an older housing? Seems like you'd have to do a lot of work to get it up to where the Renesis housings are as far as port area. Would our apex seals have a problem with the peripheral exhaust?

Yeh OD, the seals are to small. Tend to bow a little more when cruising over the port. Speaking of that, is anyone running 7 seals with any luck?

Threw a code, didn’t tell me anything I didn’t know, p2070 tuning valve isn't working, lol. I need to figure out how to make it atleast cycle. The magic box is here, finally.

Cam will have an engine to build for me next week--stay tuned.
Have to go --seems my R3's 120amp fuse decided to let go.

anything I can do with an advanced key car that will not start (engine doesnt turn over), no dash cluster power and codes of U0155 and Uo166. Fob works well, regular key doesnt make a difference. All fuse/battery is good.

3 rotor conversion?

You said "anything"...

I am guessing a trip to the stealership.
