Yeah. If you have to support more than 225, you should probably go with a magnum due to excess friction.

I know how to fix the side seal issue and you dont--na na na na na!
Also can match bevel intake to engine ports(remember when we used to do that to old muscle car carbs and intake manifolds?)--remove casing markings and I THINK i know how to help incrase cooling for the exhaust port.

I hate to break into this. As you may know I have been working on updating a map for the location of the owners. I think that my helper has come up with something unique and if everyone does not mind doing so, please provide me (by PM please) with the city where you reside, the color of your 8 and any links you would like to incorporate. A few of the existing members are a little inactive and if any or the active members can fill in the blanks for them it would help. Just see the existing list to see what I have (page one of this thread). The new map/list will use your current avatars. If there are any Pettit owners out there that are not on the list, now would be a good time to get on it. With your help and a little luck the new map should be up soon.

APV leaks period--if you have an engine that is apart , put the apv valve in its engine port and simply put some pressure on it---you can hear the leak and if you just blow hard on it you can feel the pressure letdown. these has to affect the fuel disbursement to some degree. may not be much but it has to be some. during the leak of course no fuel is going through it.olddragger

I don't think the engine will care about a bit of a leak here..there is no fuel in those tracts anyway...and the leaks will be small compared to the amount of (fuel-less) air going in when they are open...plus it is metered air anyway....

thinks about fuel distribution and ANY air getting in that doesnt have fuel with it is a power lost.

Well...that whole port never has any fuel in it...so it's a moot point Maybe we should look at changing the injector location?? I'm sure there is a reason that they don't spray fuel in there...might have something to do with port timing or something??

OD, you pique my curiosity with that question.

Many years ago, I remember motorcycles being advertised with a "radical new cylinder treatment", and there were R/C model engines with a same treatment. Instead of the cylinder being plated with chrome (like the 12A's rotor housings), these were nitride-impregnated or 'explosive plated'. One of the methods was to hang a component wire in the cylinder bore, hit it with enough voltage to literally explode the wire and deposit it into the walls. Variation of the material was used in aircraft hydraulic actuators to enhance wear resistance.

I'd have to guess there is a limit to the surface area that can be 'shot', otherwise Mazda probably would have tried it. I'd like to see a 13B or Renesis nitride-treated and see how the coating holds up. Expensive curiosity!

I'll take the truly explosively formed cermet rotor housing.
Powder is placed into a form and C4 used to turn it into cermet.

The military makes parts of helicopter frames like this.

This type of rotor housing would never scratch; maybe shatter at ungodly stress, but never scratch.
Just add rotors and seals made the same way, and that would finish the bulletproof engine.
(literally bullet proof to small arms fire, I don't know about a 50 caliber)

Well, I went to the dyno day, needs tuning bad.
I made less RWHP than some NA cars, but I do have good torque.
201 RWHP and 192 FT lbs

Juan made 301 RWHP and 294 ft lbs.

Update: Juan made 301 RWHP and 194 Ft LBs

My AF was at 10.0 to one during my pull, so I stopped after the second pull.
Good thing I did not have methanol installed!

Running the blue Mazda injectors, with the base flash.
I almost wonder if my secondary ports are stuck closed or something.
