Much thanks to all the Overlords dedicated to pushing *knowledge* to facilitate successful boost projects & better RX8 community.

I would be very interested in seeing a alongside each Overlord's details a *date stamp* of miles driven on your FI motor. Can't think of a better way, *given all the variables* to illuminate an important measure of a successful boost.

I'm at 7k miles so far. Installed at 45k. Car is early model 2004, received in August 2003, still on first engine.

I ran pretty conservative on the dyno since I don't have a final tune and I was running lean prior. Jeff tweaking the MAF scaling so I was running richer. Boost was only 9-9.8psi.

302-rwhp, 231 ft-lbs torque:

Also had some cut-out at higher rpm thanks to injecting too much water/alky mix. I dialed it down and it feel better. Tony (the guy at the shop/UMS Tuning) said I could have picked up a few more horses if that was dialed back.

All in all I'm pretty happy- conservative tune, low boost, and I'm in the 300-whp club! Next up, more boost, race gas. We'll see...
That's pretty good! It looks like it could use some fine tuning work (probably on spark advance stuff) but that's definitely a great starting point. Not bad for .6-.7bar of boost.

18600 miles on mine, installed @17783 miles. July 2005 build date and purchased November 2005.

Running 13psi boost since late January (1000 miles ago). Still pulling 19-21 inHg at idle. Like Buttah.

Same turbo I'm using on the red car. It's a great turbo for a decent price!

Thanks man. I am pretty happy with my area under the torque curve. I had 200 ft-lbs from 3500rpm to 7300rpm. I only made 132 ft-lbs with my basically maxed-out NA setup.

Yeah, I still had a "base" tune just fine tweaked a little, and running a rough homebrew distilled/alcohol 60/40 mix. The shop owner and I both could hear me injecting too much water and blowing out combustion. This was just a pull session and not a tune session so I didn't mess with it.

What would you recommend as far as the spark advance you mentioned?

So far I am only running 9-10psi, I am going to up it to 13psi and see how it goes. Last time I tried the car ran like a raped ape but it got scary lean in rpm above 4500, so I haven't ventured back into that kind of boost, yet.

Oh yeah, Kane, could you update me on the first page with my numbers and my Custom LS2 Ignition upgrade ?

Thanks

Posting this here in case it gets deleted elsewhere..... call it a mission statement of sorts.

You can either have total transparency or you have to rely on customers who are far more trusting than most or desparate enough to give it a shot regardless. Anway, done posting, still waiting for answers to my questions...
And therein lies the rub. Are you paying for a product or a service? If it is a product then all applicable laws (including warranty or maketability) apply. If you are paying for a service - then why do you care about secrecy... since it cannot be duplicated anyway..... see what I mean?

This whole issue is a huge pet peeve of mine; so I'll not color the thread anymore - but this goes to all tuners who do this kind of copyright secret crap.... copyright protects you from other people making money off of your "written material" not protection from people being able to read you material. Furthermore any kind of scientific type of information should always be made public in order to facilitate UNDERSTANDING. I for one would never spend a dime on a tune that I couldn't see taste touch and ask questions about. If you hire a contractor to build a house - you get to see the bluprints beforehand no?

never a dull moment at the 8club.
Kane: smart idea, we both know what will happen.

CW: the OGRE putting it down! Nicely done with the 300+ pull. Get some more tuning and lets see what the beast does at 13psi

To clarify - I am not trying to put Fluid on the spot; my post is directed at anyone and everyone.

Me BS-ing with Ray probably has something to do with it.... LOL; but I am kind of getting a case of the *** with this whole tuning drama. Good tuners are good tuners because they understand how your motor works and how it will respond to changes.... not because of some secret bullshit that you can't know about.

I couldn't have put it better myself nor could I agreed more.

As always the dust will settle and it will be what it will be.

The BHR gang should be supporting this, this would be the demise of Fluid as we all know it if we were to fail....and we all know that this is what they want whether they want to admit it if they want.

Simple as that.

Do you think I am going to let that happen? Absolutely not.

We have close to 12 new product releases in the next few months.

So my guess is I am more than prepared for what Fluid Motorsports is going to be bringing to the Table.

As always thank you for your business and Interest!
