Fuel trims can build and work against you a bit when you have a boosted application and significant environmental changes.
People have seen changes in performance on completely stock RX-8s after having their trims jacked up by variations in their driving habits and weather.
Mine even wander a bit from time to time.
If you can't wait for the PCM to re-trim itself, just reset it.

Stealth - hold on if you can for just a little while longer.
Sorry about the delays.

My high boost is at 12....... I want to try it - but I need to tune out some fuel; I am actually blowing out the BHR ignition above 10PSI....I am waiting to get my new tuning toy.

Have you talked to Ray about the ignition?? I have used the MSD 8247 coils with @13psi of boost and experienced detonation(bad tune/not enough fuel?) before the coils quit working.

Hey guys...my car was running crappy today....I have not been going into boost, especially since my turbo is on it's way out and it is not properly tuned.....But my vacuum is at 14-15...seems kind of low. Would this have anything to do with my crapping out turbo? It's not like it idles badly or stalls out though...just the usual rotary idle. Maybe I'm worrying for nothing.

you still running 10-10.5 AFR's in boost, or have you leaned out a bit?

What is your idle at when you get the 14-15 vac? I know when my idle dips down to 700 or so my vac goes down some. At 1k I have 16-17 and when the car is idleing at 1.5k I have 18.

cold, my idle is around 18 or more, I can't remember exactly....
but completely warm I see the 14 when the idle dips to 700...occasionally a 13, but rare. It is usually at a 15...and rarely see 16. I have not experienced any detonation either....before I installed the turbo kit I took it to mazda to have it checked out and they didn't feel the need to do a compression check.....they seafoamed it though.

What is the lowest unacceptable vacuum reading for FI? Maybe I have a boost leak, but I've checked my lines numerous times.

I've been reading this thread MM made about his vac readings...
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...+vacuum&page=6

maybe it's not an issue really at all? I do know the idle vac started to drop once the turbo was behaving strangely. I guess I will have to get it rebuilt and see the results...

anyone got anything else?

mine is normally around the 16 mark but i notice it sometimes drops to 15 after a hard run .
It could be one of those cases where having a guage just makes you worry about the car more . So a good fix might be to disconnect the guage ---- heh

I am at 11 ish up to 10 PSI - then it goes to 10 AFR..... but in reality it is probably like 8 since my gauge only goes to 10 and so my software can only pull a smidge of fuel each time.... I just need to find the time to tune it.

Damn, after hearing about your guys vacuum numbers, my motor is badass! I get 21-22 inches cold, 18-19 warmed up, 17 at the lowest with both rad fans howling and the A/C on. My motor is pretty new with under 4,000 miles, tho. Premix and Sohn adapter FTW.

Kane- I wish I had your problem with running too rich. I run too lean when I go to 12psi. I've tried a few runs but every time it wants to lean out on my. Still trying to get Jeff to work with me on a tune....
