BTW Brettus - I didn't see anything with the fuel trims to move AFR's a point. And that is from old to new logs from Konig.

I am still leaning on timing.

OK but we need to know LTFT's as well .
IMO this is way more likely to be to do with the setup of his maf and the way it is calibrated than anything else .

Can you guys help me out...has anyone experienced a "ticking" noise in the upper rpm range with the Greddy turbo. It only happens above 8k, but the AFR's are 11.2 all the way through boost?

To be honest I can't tell. I just freaked out when I started to hear it. My buddy noticed it first then when I was WOT I heard it at about 8k. But the AFRs seem good to go. So I am really scared to go WOT that high anymore. Just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas as to what it could be.

does it sound like it's coming from the engine bay or from where the turbo mounts?

I had some ticking noises actually now that I think about it.....but it turned out to be 2 exhaust leaks.....one from the manifold, and one from my midpipe.....I had some loose bolts.

That's all I got.

Well funny you say that, because I didnt have those noises until today. And yesterday I took out the cat, which I had to unbolt the midpipe and the spring load bolts on the exhaust. That is probably my problem right there. But it also sounded like it was coming from the engine bay.

Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to double check all your bolts on the hotside....
But usually if you have an exhaust leak you can hear it pretty clear at idle and when you rev it just a bit.

I will be sure to check to make sure the bolts are good to go. Also, I will check the spark plug wires...just when I thought the car was running like a champ!

This thread has really jumped the shark.

Started as a 'big boys only - no gurls' club, and devolved into two guys discussing scary noises in the night.

Please start a thread for each 'tick' that is keeping you awake nights, and let's get back to dissing the NA wimps.......
