Nothing else will change other than the turbo.

Technically it just flows more air so I simply lower my boost settings and all should be fine, correct? My AFR are rock solid at 9psi so maybe lower my boost controller to 7psi?

You are correct - though the VE corrections will likely be off.

Bryan - remember our car is MAF based - so changes to the VE of the motor don't have a huge impact as long as the MAF scale is good to go.

Like I said - the VE% corrections may be off; but otherwise you should be ok.

How many people are in the 300+ club right now? Should have a new member tomorrow. My shop was incredulous about how tight the fit was to get the 3071R crammed in there, but its finally all installed. They agreed that there was no way in hell you could fit a larger turbo low mounted on that manifold.

I will just say that I dyno'ed the car yesterday, and MAXED out the MAF. Apparently Scott sold some that were 3" piping and some that were 3.5" piping. Looks like I have to get some 3.5" piping so I dont run into that problem again. So I was only able to pull 290whp, 235lbs/tq with making no power above 7K RPM.

I have no idea what caused it just stop recording at 7K when it was reading fine before....I have yet to check for foul plugs. But something is not right. I am having trouble with car.

On my last pull, at about 5k the car had a loud bang with black smoke coming from the engine. But it idles fine, and drives in boost okay. So I am going to check some things when I get home....

Hard luck man .
At what rpm and psi did you see those numbers BTW .
How does it feel off the dyno at over 7000 ?

You mean the 3" Mazsport GReddy CAI sucks.

I have the 3.5" version and its by far the best intake ever made for the GReddy kit.

BTW how much HP can the stock injectors handle?

7k, 9PSI.

I dont know what the hell happend, I was driving all the way up to redline. But it just wasnt registering over 7k. It feels good off the dyno, I am going to have to look at my dyno sheets and see about the other pulls if I was able to get over 7k to read. It may have just been that pull. But after my last pull, I decided to call it a day.

perhaps a fault with the rpm pickup on the dyno ? Others here have had that issue .

If you were 290 at 7000 you would have made at least another 10-15hp by 7500
so I think you are safely in the 300 club

Justin I really think your car is set up nice. I think the variation of wide band readings is making you feel not confident about air fuel ratio. If you are running low 10's AFR on one and the other is reading 11.2 and in the previous dyno 12's, I would wait till I knew 100% that the AFR is correct. The black smoke is fuel. It just could be blowing out the spark and causing that blow out problem.

I am impressed with the numbers just because there is 20-30 RWHP left in just air fuel tuning. Not to mention timing changes along with shorter split will make gains as well.

Yeah the tail pipe sniffer - vs the factory O2 is making this whole thing a bit difficult.

Once the plugs come out we will know more. Either way; on the last pull we were on average 10 WHP higher than the 290 pull until the spark blew out.... we'll get it figured out - but he needs a new MAF to make any more power.... the 3" pipe is pegged.
