The upgraded ignition won't save you any gas. That isn't the point of it.
Its for power and reliability.
I've actually gotten more than a 50% increase under some conditions.
BTW - If anyone has an AP from me and Scott's coils and needs the dwell adjustment, let me know. (This is only needed if you have misfires at high RPM.)
I've sent out a few with Scott's modified values and we should know if it works universally or not in the near future.
I'm pretty confident that it will.

Hey Scott - by chance if a fellow had ordered on April 29th, what kind of lead time should he be expecting? No rush, I just want to make sure I have some time set aside to install them when they come in.

Only as one single datapoint:
I am still NA, bang the redline in 2nd and 3rd at least two times a day since my install in March and not a single misfire. To be honest, with the broken left heel I'm suffering right now, I have only driven the car three times over the last three weeks(just to get it out and run it).................but still.................the above data holds true for me. Doc is pissed that I keep attempting to drive the car though..............he can tell by the marks on the bottom of the cast!

So, if your charge densities are close to typical, they will get lit-off, even though the coils aren't charging completely.
The problem surfaces when you combine the relatively retarded ignition timing and high charge densities of FI.

Yeah, the OE dwell settings still give the coils just enough time to load up.

because i noticed my upper RPM didnt seem to pull as hard.. and i know because my buddy i used to pull him before i installed anything
In the mid range i pull him really hard (5K-7K)but once the high rpms come in He begins to creep and when i shift i pull and once again he creeps.. i dont recal him creeping up on me before..
sure its just a little bit.. but still
maybe its all in my head.. ill know for sure once i get my dyno just waiting on scott to send that Midpip

Could the dwell time settings be a possible cause?

VERY unlikely, during testing last year no one reported any misfiring at track days with our Ignition Solution.

Would a code P0171 be related to misfires??

I'm currently on step 10, the only step without a picture. -__-
install has gone pretty easily thus far I just want to make sure of something. Where am I grounding the black wire, in picture 1 or picture 2?
