drove my car around all last night and it feels great and pulls smooth. the install went good but took a bit longer then expected do to dropping one of the acorn nuts of course.

Stupid question, I have about 25800 miles on my car, bought it used so I have no idea if the plugs have been changed or not, so I'm not taking any chances and am just going to change the plugs, but while I'm at it, I'm going to add this ignition solution with it. Would it be reccomended to get new spark plug wires too? Or does the ignition solution come with spark plug wires? I'd like to do the whole nine yards here would like to cover all bases.

would it be possible to get rid of the CEL once the proper dwell settings are dialed into the ECU? is it related to that or something else?

Please keep me posted as soon as you identify the Dwell table in the SPT.

The cel has noting to do with the dwell settings in the ECU and since there are only 2 cars with cels yours and bretts it makes it difficult for me to test. Brett can you give me a call this week I want to discuss a couple of ideas with you.

Dwell is a coils charge time, the table in the factory ECU is appears to be spot on for the N/A cars but should be tweaked for maximum performance in the forced induction cars.

Guys running the Interceptor-X simply press "o" for options then arrow key 1 click to the left to the box that says dwell. Press "p" for program and change the value from 2.00 to 3.50 then "p" again to take it out of program mode. 3.50ms will be enough charge time for 360rwhp and still allow the coils to remain cool to the touch! There is ALOT of headroom in our Ignition Solution.

Just installed the kit and it went fine, some unclear descriptions/photos but no big deal.
Startet right up and no problems after that, took it for a long drive and could not recognize anything but maybe a bit smoother engine..
It seems like its going better and better, feels like it has a bit more grunt all over the rpm range and the exaust sounds more right, absolutely no hesitation flat on from 2-7k rpm.
I hoped this kit would help my vibration at idle but it probably hasn't.

Didnt change the plugs because they are pretty new, maybe it takes some time for the car to run its best if the plugs where a bit "wet".

vibration- check your motormounts, when I swapped mine for the new-gens all vibration went away

yes, i have had them replaced a couple of months ago, a big improvent, but it seems as it has crawled back slowely.. when i picked it up from the dealership after the fix 80% was gone. but now its back by as it was... :S

Its not hard to install and change the plugs at all just takes some time. Before you put the new plugs in make sure to put a little anti seize on the thread

Installed mine yesterday. Flawless instructions, only a minor user error or two and my big hands were a problem. So far what I've noticed is improved throttle response and/or rev speed from 500-2k rpm. On my test drive the car had no problems with aggressive red-lining, holding red-line, aggressive engine braking, idling, etc.

I had a check engine light for the first 5 miles and haven't seen it since. Great product, great company! My 8 has already asked for a Mazsport midpipe for Christmas! (or sooner!)

Yes. The instructions are excellent. You'll need to take your airbox off, unplug some wires, jack up the car and remove the driver's side wheel. If you're unsure find a friend that's pretty good at cars and do it together.

That's how I generally like to do things. If I haven't done it before I find a friend that has and do it with them first. Then I"m good to go on my own next time.

Huh? Even with my big hands I had no problem reaching up from under the car to get at the plug wires. I don't even see how taking the wheel off would help much.

I finally got some free time and installed the ignition solution this week but after I got everything back together, I can't get the engine to start. It turns over and I hear a few pops but it won't start. I checked and rechecked the wiring and grounds. I made sure the spark plug wires clicked. Before the install, I was having hard starts and the engine flooded once. I assumed it was cause of a weak battery and old coils (55k miles and the dealer never replaced them during scheduled maint). I replaced the battery, and when the ignition solution came in, I replaced my plugs. I'm totally new at this. You guys got any thoughts? And does anyone have a shop they'd recommend in San Diego?

On the wiring harness i believe the connector with the 2 wires is for coil number 4

Re-check the wires, they should match what I posted on page 31 of this thread (#755).
Also look at the MS harness, it should look like the one in THIS photo

I don't have the MS harness, just the standard OEM. But I went back and rechecked anyway. It's currently:
Green - 1
White - 2
Yellow/Green - 3
Blue/Yellow - 4 (Two wire)

The connectors to coils are the same as in the photo.
