yeah - i'm not keen on oblivion either
The straight 'm talking about finishes in a hairpin so the faimily jewels need to be extra large .....

FYI all JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars are limited to 180 Km/h or 112 MPH.
Puts a big limit on the 1/4 mile times for some, like that Skyline.

Strange how other countries have laws limiting some things that we don't and we have tougher emissions limiting us in other ways. Over here its O.K. to go 195 mph just don't polute while your doing it!

Grab fifth while you're next to the wall on the left before turn 1. You should be at 8500 Rev's any way, and then you'll be settled in for the run up to 2.

I still think 135 before braking for 2 should be doable if you get turn 8 right. Especially with modest suspension work.

Scott, I got extremely busy and didn't get home from work until about 9 due to the shenanigans of work. Figured it'd be a bit late to give a call then, so I'm just going to give you a shout tomorrow. Sorry about that - Jim

i have a question on the ignition kit, so i've installed the ignition kit like a week ago from one of my friend's shop.
after the install, i think the gas mileage got worse or i dont know if it is just in my mind, and when i go 3/4 throttle on any gear, i just fell a hesitation at higher rpm.
can anybody tell me why is my car doing that?

My rev-limit is 9500 though i accidentally hit 10,000 once and the engine check light came on.
Cobb does not support outside US markets. EFIDude still did not publish the editing software. And that is the reason: I am a BETA tester for Scanalyser Pro Tuner. Can't disclose more then that. The first thing I will be doing is taking the speed limiter out very soon. Followed by turning CEL off (Code masking) for mid pipe & Mazsport Ignition solution.
Re-Amemiya, R-Magic, and Knight's sport in Japan could increase the rev limit and speed limit on your JDM RX-8.

However, since you got Hymee's Tuner software, that is way better and cost effective. It's very nice to see that you are a JDM Beta Tester of Hymee.

I want to clarify that you specifically got a cel light after the ignition install? Please keep us informed with your issues, I'm very curious.

Go out and notice at what RPM this is happening and then we can probably assist. I figure I know what it is, and there is nothing you can do about it, but tell us what RPM.
On the gas................I really haven't noticed any difference one way or the other, but in your case......it might be that the LTFT's haven't been updated yet(if that makes any sense at all). About how many drive cycles have you been through since the install? It may take the car a little while to update everything.

I know the Japanese tuners can do those, but that would mean sending my ECU to Japan for a one time flash. Hymee sCANalyser Pro tuner definitely is a better option. I will open a new thread regarding SPT once I get some results.

Yes Brettus & I got CEL from the ignition install. It seems to be specific to JDM 8s.

Told you you'd have it before May.................have you installed it yet? Take your time and do i t right.

Tip................add a little loctite to the two bolts that hold the bracket down. Only one oerson so far, but he had his come a little loose. I just check mine when I check my oil every week.

And..............even though the pics aren't great, they are accurate and you have to look at them awhile to understand what they are showing.....at least that was in my case.

Installed mine last week. Excellent engineering made for a neat tidy install in a very tight space! But one thing Scott told me on the phone NEEDS TO BE IN THE INSTRUCTIONS IN BOLD LETTERING (Thanks Scott!) For those about to install.....

BE CAREFUL!

When you install the plug wires, they slip on fairly easily BUT THEY ARE NOT YET ON CORRECTLY! You must push VERY hard on the top of the boot until you hear/feel a solid "CLICK!". If you fail to hear the "CLICK" they will eventually disconnect i.e. fall off due to engine movement and vibration!
Even after the heads up I only did it right on the plug ends but didn't do it right on the coils (such a tight fit for hands down there)! Guess what I know now? The RENESIS can run pretty damn well with only an occassional CEL with only either 1) one trailing or 2) one leading plug per rotor

Check those boot ends!!

Yea thanks for the heads up! I found the clicking noise after tryin to install the wires.. Its a good thing to have big handa haha the last two were kinda hard to make them click..

Everything wen smoothly on the install its been a little while diriving them i belive 100 miles or so.. Overall its a slight up from the stock unit.. revs more free and seems to pick up a little quicker.. but makes a even bigger difference when added with the cobb sicne ig ot that the next day =]

Still waiting on MM to send me his map.

how do you know if your old ones were going bad?? the other day before the igniton install i was accelerating from 7200-8000 Rpm and fluctuating back and forth and my CEL started to blink.. I was like WTF?!?! and it went away after i braught the Rpms lower.. never happened to me before until like a day before my ignition install.. So far with the new coils this hasnt repeated..

I also noticed on my old coils they seem to have the bottom part FADED like white.. only on 3 of them the other one was still black but beginning to develope this white circle
