I don't have a video of before my mods but it was very difficult for me to beat the EK9 and I usually won by half or one car length.

The following video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYrEwNhaxHg
is after I have installed the Mazsport Ignition Solution, RB Flywheel & Custom Cat Deletion Pipe.

yeah. i havent got the other mod yet, so it was just the ignition. i dont think it was bad, i think it cleaned out the engine.

also, is my battery warrantied? my battery has been going for the last few weeks. if it is, do you think they will replace it, with this upgrade?

Brettus, my RX-8 beats the EK9 Civic Type R by 3 car lengths. So definitely theres power gain from the Ignition Solution.
Have you figured out any solution for the CEL? We 2 seem to be the only ones getting it. Might just have to wait till Hymee's sCANalyser Pro Tuner offers Code Masking.

kersh4w the flooding TSB called for an upgraded battery. If that hasn't been performed you could bring it up mentioning that your car has had trouble starting.

It wouldn't hurt to see if you can get the battery replaced if that is not the case.

Inquiring if the ignition upgrade will throw a wrench into the possible warranty work. It depends on the dealership, some may complain about the upgrade being there some may overlook it or do the work and add a note to the VIN in case something comes up and they decide to play that card.

There may be a pro-rated warranty on the battery, I think that is the case.

Were you only 1 to .5 car lengths ahead of the EK9 with the RB Flywheel and Cat delete pipe? Or were you only 1 to .5 car lengths ahead in a stock car then added all these mods before this video was made? I am just a little confused because your post suggested that it was the ignition solution that allowed you to gain the extra lengths but you failed to give credit to the other mods which, by themselves would have helped in a big way as well. I'm not bashing, I just want to get some clarification.

Bump. Whatever happened with this? Is it on sale and, if so, has anyone reviewed it?

That was a joke. I just ordered one. I just hope it's all it's supposed to be. Seems like a lot of $$$$ for coils.

It not just coils. You get coils, mounting bracket, spark plug wires, wiring harness, and ignitor box. And free tech support

and the fact that mazsport currently has the market cornered. so they can charge as high as they think people are willing to pay.

i might be doing a dyno on may 4. i think anyway. i dont know if i want to spend the money.

Sigh...well folks you can always replace your coils every 30K miles with OEM for about $130 plus labor or your time. No one's forcing anyone to get this...

I have mine and they're great and well worth the money. I've dyno'd my car vs 2 other RX8s and made 5 hp more than one with an intake and exhaust and almost 10 more than one with 60K miles on original coils and OEM intake and exhaust.

Any solution for the CEL lights on the RHD cars after installing the ignition upgrade? Are other RHD and before 2005 model RX-8s having this problem?

The rumored Hymee code masking sounds interesting, but I think many would want a CEL light investigated and "solved" if possible as oppose to just turned off.

Have heard about RHD models.........haven't heard anything about pre-05's, where did you see that? Maybe I'm just forgetting?
