We shipped out 17 this week.

You should all have tracking numbers in your email. We typically make 10 a week and the guys here are working hard to get these Ignition Solutions out to you. Thank you for your continued support.

If you do not receive a tracking number please dont panic. We are currently in production and should have more shipping out shortly.

Betsy...you're cute, and you bring me good news about my car parts...why oh why do you live so far away! I can't wait till my new little toys get here! I'm installing my DashDAQ, RB exhaust, Mazsport Duel Resonated Mid-pipe, and my Ignition Solution, all in the same weekend. I'm giddy like a little girl! Is it alright if a man cry's over how beautiful his car is. And this doesn't make me any less of a man I'm sure. It just means I'm sensitive! Chicks dig sensative. LMAO

just got back from my first track day since fitting the coils - very happy with the performance .
Guess how many car lengths a stock STI got on me from 5.5k in 3rd through to hitting rev limiter in 4th ....

That would be nice - but do you know how much quicker those things are against a stock 8 ?

Swoope - rev limiter not speed limiter . So thats 9000rpm in 4th somewhere around 130 mph - from a start speed of around 55 .

I'm guessing 4 car lengths......hey what happened to your 187 Km/h speed limiter? Did you disconnect the VSS? or you got some secret you want to tell me!

I have driven the stock 2006 STI 305 bhp( not the new ugly hatchback). Trust me they are not exactly lacking much in the handling department either.

Thats a bloody good guess . More like 5 though and he had a little more exit speed out of the corner due to me slowing a little to line him up . Still - pretty good considering I was in third and lugging a little to start with from 5500 . If I only had the 4.77 diff - he was using 3,4,5 and a little 6th . I was only 3rd&4th.
One thing that really surprised me - I used way less gas (probably 1/3 less) than him over the day even tough our lap times were pretty much identical .

No secret - just disconnect the rear wheel sensors and no more limiter
BUT also no more speedo ,DSC,ABS, limited power steering and lots of lights on the dash....... not recommended for the faint hearted .

Almost identicasl lap times is pretty damn good, considering he has AWD.

You said he got you by 5 car lengths... What did they used to get you by?

Also it wasn't a completely stock STI was it, no exhaust or anything?

Yes bone stock - hope he doesn't mod it or i'll have no chance
The last STI (a stock 06) I ran against got about 4-5 lengths on me on a straight 1/2 as long as that one so I think I've realed in about 1/2 the advantage they had . Not all due to the ignition but I'm sure it helps .....

The rev limit is on the Auto's to protect the auto tranny. It may also be on the 5 speed manuals.

The speed limiter depends on country and seems to be set at different speeds.

Both the rev limit and speed limiter could be cured by ECU re-flash. This why the Cobb AP, and upcoming EFIdude and Hymee ECU relasher and editing software are so exciting.

Really... a stock USDM sti doesn't nearly pull that much on me. I guess it really depends on the exact length of the straight in which you are referring to? Any info you can give on that would help me gauge the difference.

As per relevance, Scott I finally pulled the trigger on this. Please feel free to give my cell a call when you have a moment, I have a few other things I wish to speak with you about. Thanks - Jim

sosonic, i'm very well aware of the rev limits & speed limits on all the markets in the world. Brettus and I have JDM RX-8 w/187kmh speed limiter in our 8s thats the reason I asked him how he got rid of it. Our Japanese Type S RX-8 are rated 250 PS which is around 9 HP more then US. My rev-limit is 9500 though i accidentally hit 10,000 once and the engine check light came on.
Cobb does not support outside US markets. EFIDude still did not publish the editing software. And that is the reason: I am a BETA tester for Scanalyser Pro Tuner. Can't disclose more then that. The first thing I will be doing is taking the speed limiter out very soon. Followed by turning CEL off (Code masking) for mid pipe & Mazsport Ignition solution.

Why would the speed limiter be so low? Is it laws that regulate it that low? 116 mph??

What kind of sports car comes with one that low, sounds more like a pickup truck speed limiter.

Why don't you ask Trey (Cobb) what his new 480 hp Nissan GTR's speed limit is. It surely doesn't look like a pickup truck.

FYI all JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars are limited to 180 Km/h or 112 MPH.

don't know the length - like I said , after exiting the corner at 55mph I hit 9000rpm in 4th (130ish) so it is a very long straight - maybe 1/2 mile .

That sounds similar to Pacific Raceway out here. We generally get up to about 125-130 depending on the size of your family jewels between the last corner and corner 2. It's geared just about right although I would like a few more RPM so I wouldn't run the risk of hitting the rev. limiter around corner 1, a slight right hand sweeper, at 130 and causing me to unload the rear end and spin out into oblivion.
