Yeah the timing modifyer can be changed or the base map. I just don't know if that is for sure it; and or where to change it - I am pretty sure Jeff does though.

I am 99.9856% sure. He mentioned it in the AP Racetuner thread i think... but I could also be wrong.

well my experience is that ltft definately does affect afrs in closed and open loop . And i'm 100% sure of that , which beats you by 0.0144%
There are two numbers - one for closed loop and one for open .

maybe it didnt happen to anyone else?

idk, I know my car did the exact same opposite. When I first got my performance tune I was having 11.4 AFR at WOT now im having 10.9 to 11

I would really love to see before and after timing logs.... I wonder if it can make that much difference all by itself.

In open loop - the car aims for the Target AFR; but never gets to check if it is correct or not (no feedback); so even if trims built... a 2% LTFT should throw the AFR off by more than a few hundredths.... 10% Fuel = roughly 1 AFR point.

yesterday I saw AFRs change from mid 11s down to high 10s with LTFT change of only 3% . But i do have 480cc injectors in there that i have made no attempt to scale so .......

Wow.... 3% only? I wonder if there are some other modifyers I am not familiar with yet...

I mean if your AFR is 11:1 and you reduce your fuel by 3% 1* .03 = .97 so 11:.97 = 11.34 AFR....

See?

yes i see the math - but is does not correspond to what i've seen and it seems what Konig is seeing so something else is going on as well .

I agree....that is why I am wondering about timing... retarding effectively richens the AFR up and advancing does the opposite....

So if you tune hot - then run cold... you'll be lean (assuming timing changes for the temps); and vice versa....

I wonder if it is not a linear relationship .
IE LTFT is adjusted in closed loop at very low maf values . For N/A this may be ok but when you go FI the relationship to low maf situations is not so predictable .

I honestly don't know... it would stand to reason that it should be linear with regards to fuel; since air is air and the fuel trims are really more for the injector tolerances and atomization issues........but I am just speaking out of my **** - I really can't say 100%

okay well my situation has changed. im still on the same map, but my car is now going riccchh.

in any gear now, when i give it enough throttle to go into boost the AFRs drop down to 11.1 and stay there the ENTIRE time i am in boost. i have 40,000 miles on the original coils, is this the sign that its time for new coils?

no idle problems except for the occasional blip when the rpms come down to idle. car runs fine, sometimes it stumbles a bit if i give it gas too quickly to go into boost (probably from it going too rich?) but after that it gives no problems with boost.

any ideas?

40k on stock coils is a LOT. Not sure if that's causing your problem (probably not) but would be a good idea to swap those out.

i havent reflashed it. i kinda like having it be in the 11's. tonight it was in the mid 11's. i dont know wth is going on anymore it adjusts so much so fast...lol...

but yeah i asked gregs and he said its probably not the coils either...probably the map just going physcho again.

I think a reflash would be a good idea. If the PCM didn't properly learn the map, maybe that's part of the issue? (just thinking out loud here)
