3 IN. Exhaust all the way to the tail pipe is always the best in all motor setups is my understanding.. Even on little 4 cylinder motors as well but they need more back pressure but a bigger exhaust with no restrictions is always best, Rotary or not, Turbo or not, my 2 cents of an opinion and understanding.. I am no expert tho.

Ok well, picked up an authentic mazdaspeed front bumper and side skirts. They are on the way to the body shop now. I do not like the rear bumper so its staying stock other then a set of rear bumper Aero flairs.

Never really thought I would have a body kit... funny how these things happen.

Nice, I am also on the look out for a genuine or poly mazda speed front bar as the fibreglass bar that I have has too many cracks from the slightest mistake at the track.

What are the other mazdaspeed guys using for screens in the openings or do the stock RB ones work?

I use the mesh grill that comes with the Mazdaspeed kit. If you want to change it out for something with smaller openings its real easy. You can get about any mesh you want from these guys. http://customcargrills.com/products.asp?cat=1

BTW, I have the full mazdaspeed kit and I dont think the car will look complete without the mazdaspeed rear bumper. IMHO it improves the overall the look from the rear and on the side it flows better from the sideskirts.

Its funny when I see a stock RX8 from the rear, because mine looks smoother, lower and more aggressive. My kids dont even recognize other RX8's but they can spot a honda or BMW from a mile.

Yeah, i kinda see what you mean i just dont like the look of the mazdaspeed rear and I'm not putting down the cash like that for something im not in love with. Thanks for the heads up that the kit comes with the mesh.

This is what I will be picking up for the rear, the lip will be painted like the rest of the kit:

I am excited to see how the body shop painted the back pieces. I wonder if it will be all red or the bottom section will match the paint on the lip.... hmmm.

In other news I finally ordered an exhaust. Check out my thread here: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/hoss-05-finally-orders-exhaust-223362/

O and this came in the mail today:

it was all suppose to be in one shipment so the seats should be on the door this week! O yeah and it should be out of the body shop as well.

I hope they painted it correctly, I went over all the parts with them in person and showed them exactly what you wanted. I am awaiting a callback from them now, the car should be finished.

Raul came back from the body shop FINALLY. But the car looks badass. Authetic MS front and sides and RB rears with the lower edge paint matched to the wheels. Sorry for the cell phone pics, I'll get proper pics later.

looks pretty nice..i think you should remove the front emblem or paint it the same color as the wheels.

You must read minds Gregs. The exhaust going on is "gun metal" and I i plan on taking all the emblems in for a coating of "black chrome". Should look hot! O when my mazdaspeed spoiler go's on its wing standoffs and hardware are getting black chrome as well.

I really like what you did with the RB rears
Thanks I really wanted to do something different with the rear bumper. It turned out better then I thought it would.

Thank you Scott for seeing the car through this process and making sure the body shop hooked it up correctly.

No problem brother. They went a little crazy with the wax but I'll get it cleaned up. There is a fastener missing in the wheel well but I'll get that sorted. Other than that it looks great, they pretty much removed every ding and chip on the car. I really, really, really like it. I wasn't sure about the RB rears but it was a good call, they look great. I jealous.

It is funny though, the factory exhaust is still bent on the left side But that Exoticspeed is begging to go on.
