you know I'm gunna have to try that now - if I break my transmission it's your fault .

Can't update just yet cuz watching Scott Dixon in the indy cars ....

LOL there was a few times I got worried my transmission would implode. I think the scariest was spinning tire on the rollers. I was worried I would slip off!! Luckily they had me ratcheted down real good.

I did a 3rd gear pull for fun and made only 240rwhp because I was spinning the whole way thru the pull! It was awesome-sauce.

OK - just put Chickens dyno up - gotta say it looks pretty awesome . Thanks to Chicken for putting his engine on the line in the interests of Renesis development .

Note : his torque figure is the highest ever recorded for a renesis

Chicken - would you mind giving some more detail on what your supporting mods are to achieve this .
IE how much meth
any octane boost ?
what intercooler ?
anything else you think of that might help me beat your nos when I try again LOL

SWEET! I'm so Baller Status

-Meth was Snow Boost Juice (51% water/49% methonal)
-Running Snow Stage 2 progressive water/meth kit with "medium" jet (not positive of the exact size will get it later), starts spraying at 3psi full spray at 9psi. Jet it right infront of throttle body
-Running crappy 91 Colorado pump gas
-Intercooler is custom, core is 30"x12"x3"
-running custom LS2 Yukon Ignition system with custom MSD plug wires
-NGK BUR9EQP FD Trailing plugs in the leading hole, OEM trailing plug in trailing
-GReddy E-01 electronic boost controller with MAXED OUT duty cycle...couldn't get boost to peak anything above 13.5 psi (might try another EBC or even a manual one now) Boost was falling FAST after 6500 or 7000rpms....that's why power trailed off like it did. I still held over 300-rwhp for over 3000rpm I think
-Running all stock injectors except for rebuild/flowmatched Denso 730cc P2s

Not sure what else would be relevant. Car feels like a beast!

God damn chickenwafer, that is ridiculous torque... I need to re-dyno my car at some point soon, because Jeff updated my tune and its pulling beautifully through all gears now, no lean spots, no stumbling from excess fuel etc, and because of the adjustments we made to hit a measly 8.5 psi when the MAF was screwed up, it peaks at 11 psi now and pulls very hard. I don't know that I'm ever going for the 14 psi you are running, I'll probably stay around 11 psi for now but congrats on some awesome numbers man.

Thanks man! I appreciate it.

Not to gloat, but hot dayum my dyno looks nice overlayed on the others! LOL. I just love how I was making 300-rwhp+ by 4500rpm and no one else makes 300-rwhp (or higher) until at least 7500rpm.

I wish we had a torque graph too so I could see my domination. LOL Honestly I still can't get over how much torque I made, it's just crazy. I knew it was going to be good when on my first pull I made 301-rwhp and 248 tq @ 9psi.

OK you basterd . you made me tamper with my boost setup . Just went for a run - dialed in 12psi from similar rpm to you but was on a damp road and things were getting scary

Yeah, it was soggy over here this evening too, I couldn't get the car to move with anything over partial throttle. It just sat and spun its wheels. FI RX-8s rule.

chickenwafer, I'm really curious about exactly what you did to setup your car for those torque numbers. Thats V8 torque!

Pretty sure I figures out my boost control issue thank to Jeff....I don't think I had enough preload on the actuator arm.

I will try adjusting it and see if I can get more boost.

Chicken, your torque is insane! Congrats on the nice numbers!

Who says that at above 6000ft elevation you can't pull nice numbers... I guess you being boosted doesn't count though, LOL!

PS - It looks like you are the founder for the over 300rwtq club.

Yes- modified GReddy kit with MM's Garrett GT3071R

It sucks because even if I figured it out on the dyno there was still nothing I could have done...you know to get to that actuator the car needs to be jacked up, passenger wheel off, and lots of swearing.

I also think my torque was do to my exhaust- it's not flowing as well as I think it should. I have a 3" catless midpipe with no resonators and the HKS Hi-Power single outlet cat-back, which I think it holding up airflow. I have a theory so I will need to test it on the dyno (again)

It was SAE corrected so altitude wasn't a big deal. Even uncorrected it was pretty good

Lol yeah, I have the same problem which we realized when my car was on the dyno, but as you said, not much could be done once the car was strapped down. Jeff just kept poking at the boost controller, but because of the other issues with the car all he could manage to coax out on the dyno was 8.5 psi. Still over 301 whp, but now thats its sorted out the boost is 11 psi.

I love that we have almost the exact same mods on our cars, and your 9 psi pull was almost identical to my 9 psi pull. Theoretically that means if I monkey with my tune and boost I could also achieve "stump pulling torque" too. What do you think of the non-resonated midpipe and HKS Hi-Power combined? Pretty loud eh? Beautiful sound though...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sound. That is what makes it hard if I have swap the exhaust for something else.

With a similar tune I don't see why you couldn't get the same torque. I still had plenty left on the table in terms of timing and fuel, I was running rich.

I'm still shocked my knock sensor actually worked, LOL. I didn't notice it until Kane had me pull up a log and at 6500rpm I was only doing 7 degrees of timing advance on the leading coil ! Turns out the knock sensor was picking up the noise of the rollers and pulling timing, crazy. I always thought our sensor did nothing LOL

I think it is due to the fact that you were running at 18psi (ish) early in the run tapering down to 13.5psi at whp peak

If you take "deviation from a known standard " it is highly unlikely that it was only at 13psi early in the run ....
13psi should have netted in the 290-300lbft range

Did you log psi at all ?

No I couldn't and the pressure sensor on the dyno was broken (of course)

I never held anything above 13.5psi...I spiked 14.6 a few times but nothing close to 18. I did hit 18 in a 6th gear pull on the highway and it went wayyyy lean.

By 8k rpm boost had tapered down to 9.5-9.2psi

I saw you mention that earlier and that is what made me think about how much boost you were running at the dyno .
BTW I did a thread a while back on a two stage boost controller that might help you get what you want out of it .

I know I didn't hit 18 on the dyno. My E-01 records the max boost I've hit for any given setting. When I came off the rollers it showed around 14.4 I believe.

Now it shows 17.9 from that highway pull, however. I believe I was able to hit more boost because of 6th gear/higher load me thinks...

Did you need a new pair of pants? I had my lean spike on the original tune and had a moment myself.

I'm trying to figure out if its just my trims adjusting or the high heat, but on both tunes my car has acted somewhat oddly during high heat days at the peak of the day. 90-100 degree heat and the car was running noticably leaner than it was before. I checked the LTFT and it was trimming 1% or so, so I guess its possible its just the trims, but I also had a harder time starting it when it got really hot, requiring several cranks. The lower gears which were relatively rich on this tune (mid 11s or richer) this morning were mid 12s on the way back home in WOT once it got hotter out.

Almost. It felt like someone had kicked me in the gut and pushed me head back into the seat hard. It was violent. I heard something odd and checked and saw 17psi and rising!! I got off it and peaked 17.9psi. I think I picked up some slight detonation but nothing major.
