Fair enough . But from what i'm seeing in the dyno results both from your turbo kit and the greddy kits , the control is not to the desired level - YET .

Just about every dyno run where someone is pushing their turbo I hear the words "boost controller was not doing what it should" "boost dropped off after x rpm etc etc "
You may have put the information out there but nobody seems to be utilising it at this time .

I think we all just need an external wastegate

my boost controller was doing what it should just fine; just crappy hardware we are working with here

I second the needing an external wastegate

Very nice, Brettus! Congrats man, that's awesome sauce.

Can't wait to see your power curve. I bet that little snail is lit as soon you roll into the throttle!

OK - here it is
See red line at bottom of dyno chart for various psi levels - seems I was at a much lower psi than i thought at high rpm . Trying to watch the guage and drive does not work obviously . Note that as the boost climbs it suddenly drops away - this is caused by the boost controller "overboost" function kicking in .

Runnig with :
Upgraded greddy turbo
Hymee protuner
stock coils (dwell increased by 10%)
Stock Greddy intercooler
Auto exe leads
Custom cold air intake
Stock gutted midpipe
Trust Ti catback
New rx7 plugs
Blue 480cc injectors in P2 position

Some things wot i learned :
1/ Chicken - no way could your dyno have been at only 13.5psi . I ran at 13psi up till 5500rpm and could not get anywhere near your torque numbers .
2/ My intercooler is a definate restriction at this power level . I took out my 2 stage controller gadget and lost 3psi at the turbo and only 0.5 psi at the manifold while losing 6hp peak at the wheels. With a better intercooler 350whp is definately within reach .

Could this turbo make over 300 lb/ft of torque ? I believe that would not be a problem . I was unwilling to wind the boost up anymore than it was because I was at 200% load and that is as far as my tuning table goes at the moment .

That torque curve is flat as hell man, very nice

LOL what can I say about the boost- as you said watching boost and driving/tuning etc is difficult. I just know my ebc recalls peak boost and it never saved anything over 13.8psi. I really wish the dyno had their pressure sensor working...

I made significantly more torque but you did make 3-rwhp more than me, and our turbos are vastly different.

/\ All the other pulls were around 325whp but I chose this one to post for some reason LOL

New chart is up on first page .

Thanks for all the encouraging comments above (Sorry I don't know how to do the multiquote thing )

If the turbos are different (thought you both had MM upgrade?) then that explains a lot.
I am trying to determine the reason for that myself.
Im thinking Gearing, trans or diff (trans in particular)
Chicken? have you changed any gearing in your car?

(Disclaimer: I am about to mention something I know little about lol).
Back-pressure: I've often heard that this affects torque. True or not, I don't know, and tbh I doubt it. but I do notice he is running a fairly straight HKS Hi Power Single exhaust while most are running Duals. Didn't notice if he had any special headers but if he does, that and the exhaust might have something to do with it, but someone with more knowledge on the subject can answer that.
Supporting mods: Wafer has a lot of them

This list was written almost a year ago, so I'm sure there is more by now.
Lastly, the tune. Kane just might be that good.

none of the above . Chicken turned his boost controller up further than I was game to do - simple as that .

A better question would be : how come I made more power at either end of the rev range ?

headers? wtf? you're right about not knowing.

they both have the same turbo manifolds if that is what you are talking about.

the only other difference like you said is dual or single exhaust and also different midpipes.

sorry to sound like a dick, but that wasn't really my intention.
