Just FYI, tomorrow will include the finishing of the turbo portion of the install.. i.e. down pipe, oil return line, etc.. then we'll run the intercooler plumbing and intake. I also have to head to a welding shop to get the BOV mounting flange welded onto proper piping. Then we run the e-manage cabling to the cabin, connect the wiring harness to the ECU and e-manage, connect the emanage to the actuator on the turbo, run my boost gauge, fill the car back up with oil, reconnect the engine mount and catalytic converter, then start it up for the first time! I think I covered everything else.. hehe.. guess we'll find out tomorrow!

Okay guys, so far I have a boost gauge, what other gauges would you recommend? Trying to keep it to 3 tops so I don't get too much clutter.

Yes, should ship in the next couple of days. As soon as I can swim out of my house. It's raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock. We don't have the drainage out here to cope with this much rain. In Tahoe they have 19 ft of snow and last year the lake was down 6 ft. So thanks for that anyway. In LA we have 21 inches of rain in the last two weeks and are expecting another 6. We usually get 6 or 7 per year. Maybe 10/12 in a good year.

Now you know what it's like when it rains in Houston. It is endless for days sometimes.

I sure hope your workshop doesn't float away on you

Too bad Defi doesn't offer an intake manifold temp gauge in their BF series

RG yes but you probably have good drainage in the streets. And idiots don't live on hillsides.

Philo, you might have to look at aeromotive, (I think thats their name) they make a split gauge with both ambiant and manifold. I put one of those in Wilt Chamberlains car along with others from the same company.

Everything looks good philodox, can't wait to hear your impressions...

I didn't notice if you mentioned, but for curiosity, how much does the kit weigh?

wickedly good question...I know it willl be an over estimation but if you haven't weighed it already check if there are properly labeled weights on the UPS label

Okay guys, I have about 30 minutes before I head over to the shop to start working on the car again. The only thing I weighed was the exhaust manifold. The NEW exaust manifold weigs about 6.5lbs more then the stock, which is pretty damn good considering it's cast steel. The rest of the kit is negligable (I spell that right). The Intercooler is about 5lbs, piping for the intake is all aluminum and weighs about as much as a pair of socks, and the turbo is about 10lbs I'm guessing.. I wish I could have weighed them all together before I put them on..

The UPS Shipping weight for each box was:
51.8lbs
25.4.bs
So about 77.2lbs..

Stop posting here and go :D !!! No sense in wasting time when it could be well spent installing a turbo kit

Thanks for all the pics and the write up, by the way. Now we are looking forward to your driving impressions tonight on the way home ...trying to be optimistic.

Just seeing a turbo anywhere near an 8 is great, leat alone one in an 8 !
followed this thread from day one and is a great read.

i'm jealous.

Now for a Stupid question.
I realize that Greddy won't make a A/T kit.
What would be the diffrence between a M/T and A/T turbo kit. I know the maps for the emanage and maybe the downpipe.

Sorry for jacking your thread...

Why does today feel like it's the day Phil gives birth? And we're all anxious relatives.

Good luck Phil!
