you should do some drive bys, some under the hood engine revs. Maybe even pick two points as a start/end point, run your car in stock form from point a to point b as fast as you can, then do the same later on with the turbo and see the difference (overlay the video or side by side them)

oh, how could I forget, you should make your car jump off some ramps. Then measure how much more air time the turbo gets vs stock. Yeah.... that's it.

Oh.. heh.. no video carmera yet.. I'm getting one this weekend. As long as Jason is okay hosting 2 vids I'll be able to make 2, one stock and one with turbo.

I have a Sony HC20 that I bought for around $400. I hope you have firewire ports in your computer. USB streaming is horrible.

The Greddy kit comes with a pre-programmed map. Like the CZ, you should be able to tune it for further gains, but I'd think you should be able to notice gains right out of the box.

Well, got my video camera. Decided not to get anything fancy. I got a Cannon ZR80. I made a sample movie to see if I could easily import it to my computer. Man is it easy to do. I won't have any trouble making video's of the car with the turbo in it for all of you.

Question, how do you guys recommend I setup the camera in the car to shoot the video while driving? Is there a special type of tripod to use?

If I lived a bit closer I'd offer to function as a camera mount and hold it while sitting in the back seat...

Hymee has a DIY on how to use the rotary motif holes in your seats to mount a bar that holds a video camera.

question guys.. running 5psi, should I find a blow off valve to work with this kit? if so, does anyone know of one that would work with the T618Z turbo that comes with the kit?

Ok the true question, bv or dv? pros cons? experience i have is with a 1.8t jetta with a dv. Not so into the high pitched whistle, the more mellow the better.

Well, I went with a Greddy Type-S universal BOV. I won't be able to install the BOV until I can get a flange for it. I can't get a flange for it until I find out if the tubing is aluminum or steel. Shouldn't put a damper on my install date since I can put the BOV in after the turbo is installed, it's not that hard. It's an atmospheric BOV so I get to hear that sweet sweet sounds.. hehe

**EDIT** I have heard there may be problems with a atmospheric BOV in a MAF system like the 8, if I have problems with it I'm going to get an outlet adapter for it to turn it into a diverter valve (recirc). **EDIT**

I think he's trying to hypnotize us by placing three of those rotating rotaries in a row. haha

hmmm..but what if i don't want the sound very loud? Would a dv be an option? or are there any bv's known to be subtle?

i thought how loud the bov is..was depending upon how much boost you are runnig (ie 5psi woudl be quietier than 30psi)..also is that whistling sound you were talking about (for the dv?) what you here on Amemiya's website when their turbo car ( with the odd lights) drives by in the video...it is pretty annouying sounding if you ask me (i love the bov woudl never get tired of it)
