Greddy turbo install help

O2 Sensor
Like many of you, my O2 sensor would not cooperate even using penetrating oil. No one except the dealership can get the O2 sensor for a 2006. Here is my question: Are the Upstream O2 sensors the same from 2005 to 2006? AutoZone has the 2005 one. Thanks for your help!

bringing back from the dead again...
how hard is this installation? i know it depends on your expierences... im think of doing this with a friend... i did the intake and pulleys and thought they were insanely easy.... im not very car savy but im really good with building and putting things together... easy enough to do in a garage on jacks?
how much hieght do you recommend is needed under the car? approx how many hours did it take you to install (those who did it themselves)

Took me about 5 days doing it by myself in the cold on ramps. There are tedious parts of the job... at least for me: removing the motor mount, installing the turbo, reinstalling the motor mount, routing the oil line, bolting up the downpipe, cutting the plastic shielding to make room for piping. I even had the e-manage routed, intercooler mounted, and bov welded on already. If this is a daily driver I highly suggest you bolt on everything you can that won't keep you from driving it before you do the full install. That includes what I said above, plus I would install the wideband, boost gauge, and cut the plastic shiedling for the pipes. This install took some more savvy enthusiasts 2 days but it was my first time.

It only took me 2 days and thats only because bought boxes didn't arrive together. I got 1 box on monday(with the turbo, EMU,Oil lines, etc) mounted all those parts. Then on friday I got the other box(Intercooler and piping, etc.)

It took me ~ 24 hrs to do by myself, on jackstands. I drive the car to work every day so I installed the intercooler and all the related pipes on the first weekend (~8hr) and the rest on the following weekend. The jackstands were at the max - 14 or 15" (plus large blocks under the tires for safety) The bolts around the turbo are REALLY tight. I found it was taking ~30min each - jacking the engine up and down to try and find enough room. I recommend a 1/4" socket set and universal; and a 24mm deep socket for the oil sender.
Download the manual and print it out in colour - so you can actually read it. The are a couple of schematics around that show how the pieces go together logically.
Adrian1's install thread is quite good. Once you get it running, you'll need to read a lot of stuff regarding the emange and tuning - Mazda Maniac's advice is very valuable. The new version of the kit may have a lot of the earlier issues fixed...

turbo install problems
whats up guys well i bought a used turbo on ebay and had it installed. My first question is do you really need the pressure sensor and pressure sensor harness for the install? im asking because the kit did not come with it. Also is it necessary to install the egr block plate? because they guy that sold it to me said it really wasnt needed so i did not install it. Well after installing it my car smelled real rich and acceleration sucked on it and wont idle it just dies when i shift. I replaced all my plugs with NGK 5255, everything is on right any ideas on what it could be?

Alright.
Hello everyone,
I am new to the rotary engine and installing turbos on them. I need advice on where to get a exact install guide to my turbo. I also need all or any advice on what i need to prep my turbo for install (i.e extra stuff). It will be me and a buddy that is knoledgeable in turbos and RX8, but he is currently in the field till friday and im trying to get ahead of the game here.
- What type of BOF is affordable and good quality for the greddy t618 turbo?
- Is there a special way i should have this done?
- what is the average install time for the entire kit?
- Is there anything else i need to do besides dyno to tune the turbo after install?
Any other advice on the install process please let me know. I greatly appreciate any help i can get and if anyone is advanced in this and will be free sat let me know, I might PM you with questions lol.
thanks all,
Thomas

okay this is what i thought about doing, i've read its trash before but didnt know if the access port would be enough also does that mean throwing all the sensors away with it?
So should i install a manual boost control valve?
