So .............. I learnt how to overlay virtual dynos and then did some aggressive timing logs ........
Logs were repeated in second gear with same result.

For bragging rights yes , but the old wheel definitely made the car much more responsive than it is now ,and for a street car , I think that is more fun TBH.

Between 6 and 8 degrees more , which turned out to be too much . But very interesting to see what a difference it can make .

The last set of lines from the second graph look like the same from the first graph. So what what map are u running to avoid ping?

The grey(slight ping) and red lines i already posted ... the green line is the map i'm currently running which is about 1/2 way between the other two timing maps .
