Oh and as for pan temps being different, that is not true either, grungepup and I did this test when we were both NA a while back and temps were about the same give or take 5 degrees or so. Which is why I moved my sending unit back to the oil filter pedestal.

The only difference we saw was at idle. With the sending unit mounted in the pan, the temps would creep up at idle I am guessing from the lack of air flow. But even then it was not a tremendous increase.

I should also mention that he had the stock oil coolers and lines and I was running my Fluidyne setup with custom -10 lines and a real oil thermostat. This was in normal driving conditions driving rather hard around town. Out during our canyon runs during the summer I ran about 10F cooler and I could shed heat much quicker due to the efficiency of the large single Fluidyne unit I was running.

I have seen 230f once at the track. Added some ducting to oil and coolers and intercooler so now my max at the track is 220F.

In heavy traffic with a/c on I will see 210F and for regular driving it sits at a comfortable 170F. I think I will look at getting a larger oil cooler in the future to cope with track conditions.

I realise this is at the upper end of temp levels so I am restricting my track activities and not pushing as hard as when I was NA.

So oil cooler upgrade is something I am looking at. My car only came with one oil cooler so I have added a second oil cooler and I think it will be easy to swap to a larger cooler as the brackets and lines are already in place. I might start taking some measurements and check the PWR website for options

Also you only have one cooler, In the states FI rarely sees over 210 with the dual oil cooler setup.

I did upgrade to a second oil cooler however it is the same size as stock. I am now looking at getting a larger oil cooler in its place.

RX8's in Australia come with one oil cooler from factory. I upgraded to a second oil cooler prior to the supercharger install. This set up has been adequate for daily driving however, at the track it can overheat.

After a recent change to the bypass valve spring the car seems more spirited and I am finding that it is running a little hotter than usual so I may need to upgrade to a larger oil cooler for the summer months.

Does your SC setup still use the engine oil system for lubrication?

Yes, still uses the engine oil. Oil leaks have been largely resolved around the supercharger. The only downside is that the hot engine oil is probably heating up the compressed air more than it should.

I believe a closed system is going to be difficult on the Hymee system due to how the compressor is orientated. The Pettit system allows all the gears to sit in oil as it rotates it gets fully lubricated, a bit like how the gears in the diff gets lubricated. However, in the Hymee kit the top gear will not get sufficient lubrication unless you add a lot of oil. However, there may be down sides of adding too much oil.

I will look at getting a vented hood in the future to eliminate the extra heat.

My previous point is your oil is carrying a higher heat loading as a result

I'm seeing 15 psi pretty much right from 4500 onwards . Not seeing loads as high as slash but at the end of the day ... it's only a wee turbo so probably more losses .

Oh SNAP! Woo-hoo I am loving this!!! I take it you aren't running out of injector I noticed my injector duty cycle was in the 80-90% range, so I am just going to wait to log again after I get my yellow P1s installed next weekend. Bet it felt awesome!

Yeah - the WG must burst open and let out the gas in a rush . It's a lot smoother when I don't use the BC .......................but at a lower boost .

Bottom axis is time not rpm BTW.

Sweeeeet! Yeah I was surprised at the difference between 10psi and 15psi. It is substantial. What injectors are you currently running? How comfortable are you running 15psi? Any concerns?

yellow /blue / uc yellow

Re 15 psi - anything above 11.4ish on oem sensor can cause a detonation event so yeah - risky territory . More so for you (on stock seals) I have to say .
