Got hold of a Racing Beat 3" rear pipe so getting that adapted to the FEED muffler . In meantime I put stock muffler back on and ................. get better flow from that than what I had before . Never realised the rear pipe I had on was smaller than stock (2.25 vs 2.5)- grrrrrrr.

Mazdaedit can now tune to over 200% loads (up to 400%) so no barriers there anymore .
Only worry now is my maf tube which is 3% less x-sectional area than stock . May see if I can get it bored out or just buy a new one . Reaching 4.94v so think i need a little headroom.

did you change the seals/rebuild then too?

you can always go to a larger MAF too, a bit of work to calibrate but may be worth it

I get your point and hope you are wrong . I actually think it only started happening when i upped the oil pressure .

I can also machine a couple of mm out of my existing tube an get and extra 20-30 g/s of headroom. Will be easier to calibrate than a much bigger tube.

operating up that high in the voltage scale is far from ideal, but it's your choice

higher oil pressure is a pretty common mod for the professional Renesis engine builders, doubt that is the reason

not many (if any) of those engines run 12psi of boost at high rpm...........

your logic is failing more than your engine seals, good luck just the same ...

I left oil level at 1/2 way on the D/S and the problem appears to have gone away . Fingers crossed .

Without boost - I'm pretty damn sure this wouldn't be happening . I'm more inclined to think it's air leaking past the turbo seals blowing air into the sump combined with the extra oil pressure sloshing oil around more violently than previously causing it all.

BTW : I'll happily accept your ideas on this but I really don't think you have earned the right to take a sarcastic tone with me , given your complete lack of experience with this scenario on these engines.

Are you running a restrictor in your feed line?

sure - but flow will be higher now with more oil pressure .

Blowby comes from loose side seal clearances most of the time. This can be corrected with proper catch can venting.

On a fresh build oil should not be getting past the oil control rings and scraper ring, if it is that would be the failure point not the side seals.

Unless of course they reused the springs and control rings and just replaced the orings in the oil control rings.

You don't think air can also leak through the turbo ? Air leaks past the turbo during a leak test - why wouldn't that happen when running as well ?

As a side note its a pretty well known fact that with too much oil pressure oil will leak all over the place, compressor, turbine.

A journal bearing turbo should only see 10psi (Idle) to 66psi (WOT) , without having a gauge attached to your oil feed line its impossible to know how effective the restrictor is.

I am having the same issue. I am going to install a restrictor and use a properly sized catch can and lines (mine is small). I can hit well over 100psi at redline so that is way too much. I also ordered a turbo oil pressure regulator from Freelance Motorsports, it is designed specifically fro rotary use. I will install it inline on the -4AN feed line. We shall see if I need both it and the restrictor. But the oil pressure at the turbo is way too much either way. I'm not sure why the stock Greddy turbo guys are not having the issue.

Considering what I saw on Konigs busted turbo I'd say they are in the same boat... Its just not happening as fast stock Renesis psi is at 80 right?

Well looks like I am off buying something for the Oil PSI. Good info 9K and shady! I just installed the REmedy OIL PSI mod...

At stock I never really seen my PSI go over 65, then again it may be different for each car.

Proper venting is the only fix, you guys are wasting your time with oil pressure. High oil pressure makes it smoke, not cause blowby.

Yeah mine smokes. Mainly at idle after a hard run. If I drive casually and keep oil pressures low then it doesn't happen. The issue is exacerbated when the oil level is at max, if I keep at the middle of the dipstick it doesn't do it as much.
