Well there was a lot of noise in the thread that makes it a bit hard to follow, but it seemed like your conclusion was to run APV open for slightly more flow and lower intake air temp. To me that just put it in a worse place on the surge line. Sorry if I misunderstood.
With a turbo that has the boost-juice potential coupled with an IC to provide proper intake air cooling and E85 fuel I could see 350 rwhp on a properly built 4-port Renesis engine being very feasible which obviously you get my drift on ...
The turbo I had was an upgrade on the Greddy and looking back I think it was on the cusp of being big enough to run with the aux. ports open for street duty but definitely too small for sustained high rpm boosting like that. The stock Greddy ....way too small.
I made 332whp on an optimistic dyno with the 57 trim maxed out IIRC. More like 300whp on something like a Dyno-Dynamics.
With my 60-1 wheel maxed out on the same turbine I made 360 (say 325 realistic) but it was always on a knife edge at that kind of power on pump gas.
Your turbo ..... yeah more suited to a 4 port than a 6 port and better than the one I had back then for sure. The E85 will make a huge difference but I still think you will run into the same brick wall I keep hitting on my current setup.
That has more to do with the engine design than the turbo..........................................IMO
Well I think we’re going to find out because I’m about 95% sure right now that this is going to proceed into a build and install project for a 2nd RX8 in my stable ..,
I expect to to be around 2.5 PR @ 47 lb/min (~69% efficiency) near a 7000 - 7500 rpm redline with a Renesis engine build level I don’t think that anyone else has really done here yet ...
