6 port auto/maunal

6 port auto/maunal

hey guys, i have an 04 6port 6 speed that needs a motor. I have found a 6 port auto from an 08. Is the motor a direct swap? they are both 6 port series 1, just differnt trans

They will swap fine. There are minor differences...but nothing that re-routing a couple of hoses won't fix

You will need to change counterbalances I believe, the front one with a manual trans engine one, and the rear comes off the donor motor, and you put on your flywheel. Im going the other way right now, putting a manual motor in an auto car.

OK just found out the hard way that the rear irons are different and this won't work. At least it won't work for me because I can't mount my starter because the manual has an extra boss for the bell housing sticking out where my starter bolt threads into the iron.

Well I took a grinder to mine and made the auto starter fit but it only has two bolts holding it on. I hooked it up and tested and it works so gonna try it out. Remember this is a 4 port manual iron so its not of any use to any manual car in the us.

no where in any of your previous posts do you mention 4 port... (I saw, and responded to, your post in the no bashing thread)

you're going to have other problems if you are going from a 6 port (anything) to a 4 port or vise versa.
