I am pretty set on the Synapse DV, but I would just like to get a better understanding either way.

I lied both don't have a diaphram.

I think the only difference is the BOV can be VTA or recirc.

The DV is smaller, the evo/audi guys like it becuase its a direct replacement.

Yeah, it's a good article. I think you are right, the BOV just has a cool factor the DV does not.

in our car you would hear the air flow through the dv or the bov so really it will not make much of a difference when choosing as they both do the same thing and should sound very similar

im sure they will make different sounds but you should hear both.

The dv should be more responsive then the bov, specifically in very low boost

The DV is definitely right for me and the better choice I think.

I talked to one of the Synapse engineers a few months ago, and they said the DV and BOV are basically identical except for size. They eliminated the third nipple on the DV and made the package smaller.

So 6 or one 1/2 dozen of the other.

We have been having issues with qtdudes car stalling out after the accelerator is released from seeing boost. He was told by Jeff that this caused from his bov not being recirculated. Te treason being that it isn't feeding the air that the MAF read into the intake. So there is too much fuel. We are in process of recirc' ing the bov back into the intake after the MAF to solve this issue. Will let you know what we find out.

Yeah recirculating is a must for a Greddy turbo kit, that's basic info for any MAF based car actually. Why is he running secondary injectors on a Greddy kit? IIRC, he has a stock Greddy kit right?

That's old news man.... but with the HKS SSQV VTA luckily that doesn't happen unless you push the clutch in and hold it in and for me it only happens at highway speeds in 6th gear; and rarely am i on the clutch when slowing down

Are you talking about a VTA bov vs DV? Or a recirc bov? Atmosphere vs DV will definitely be different, since the atmosphere wont be muffling the sound to the same extent that recirc will. If you're talking about a recirc bov vs DV, then I'd be interested to hear how different they are. I have heard that a ricirc bov is louder than the DV's typically used on my car. I've also heard that the rebuildable DV's are louder too. I can see why they're louder, just curious how much of a difference it makes.

Either way, you'll hear it. Unless your exhaust is too loud or something. Mine are very easy to hear, even when I'm just hitting 5-6 psi. Not as loud as vta, obviously.

It's amazing how much quieter my exhaust is with the turbo. At least up to 4,000RPM anyway.

The turbo really quiets down the exhaust.
