Note to self:

Next build check that all critical bolts thread in easily before installing the motor.

Okay so I chased the threads with a tap and I was able to get a stud in using the double nut method Now i just need and extra pair of hands to get the nuts off, Working in tight spots is a bitch.

Also, the turbine inlet pipe is very close to the OMP due to the SOHN adapter, I need to see what others did to get the coupler on.

I should have sent you a text man sorry, you could have road tripped with Shady from Austin.

The compressor inlet pipe is a tight *** fit but I got the coupler on. The only problem I have found is the return fitting pineapple put on the pan is really close to the manifold so I have to figure that out.

We ran into the same problem on RWD's install the fitting for the return line was welded on the oil pan just behind the oil drain and his return line actually comes in contact with his manifold. It's held up so far so we'll see, the header is ceramic coated and heat wrapped and the return line is high temp and wrapped with heat shielding tape, but I'm still not sure how long it will hold up to the heat.

Good luck with the rest of the install.

Plug it and run to the stock drain location ......... Mine's been like that from day one . Oil changes take about 2 mins longer is the only downside .

I am considering that, I just need to figure out the best way to plug it. I change my oil using a suction pump anyway.

glad things started to smooth out and become easier for you

These installs will all have their own finicky issues. Overcoming them separates the boosted from the failed :D

Yeah, I will outline several issues in my new build thread that should help make this process a lot easier for someone else attempting it.

just the turbo kit install would have been easy. A turbo build/engine install in an 8 year old car is another story

Also if anyone is stuck on what to get 9k for Christmas, he could use a file set, some hanging shop lights, marine grease, and shop rags.

Sadly I think most people would send him a data file, like a picture or something.

I don't think many members know what a metal file looks like or what its used for...
