In fact there are 3 units I've just ot to do one more operation on the mill.
I've a list of guys that want them but we'll see who pays up first.
Giving you the first heads up.

I am planning on trying something with the renny (I will give her one more rebuild if needed) and if I cannot get into the 12's reliably then I will start saving for an engine swap (not sure which direction I will take as of yet).

ugh the vague answer I was expecting

The swap part for me is easy. 20b all the way. I think it's the purists in me taking over. For some reason I see you going with a honda motor... K24 bottom end with a k20 head on a BW turbo.

I too would love a 20B, but the rareness of items combined with the reliability issues that may arise scares me.

An F22C is something I am considering. A buddy of my dads (mechanical engineer who has worked in a few areas of automotive and aerospace design) has an F22C swap in his old British Roadster and does insane work on everything from cars to sail boats, so I have been talking with him about it all and he has a few cool ideas in terms of fabrication. And the F22C is a great engine but after some research, a k24 Turbo swap seems like it would probably be the better choice so I don't have to run an expensive dry sump setup (although part of me likes the idea, ). I like the Honda option of course just because I have so much experience with swapping them and boosting them.

No matter which route I take, it will be expensive and won't make much sense financially but for me it is more about the challenge of doing it, an learning more fabrication skills in the process. But I need to hit the local Honda salvage yard do some actual measuring myself, I am going off of what I have found online.

An LS swap will never happen in the 8. I have looked at C6 Z06's a lot lately though.

If your problem is headroom on the turbo at high rpm, PM me I've got a couple of solutions. One that you could easily try over a weekend.

I have been on the dyno, the numbers were about what you would expect for 4-5psi and falling at redline so I did not get to see optimal numbers on that day, but a new wastegate actuator and HKS EVC-S has solved that problem since then.

The next numbers posted will be in a video of 1/4 mile times, I just need to crack 12's with the renny without gutting it and then I will be happy and can move on. I will let it run it's course though and give it one more rebuild because any swap will require a lot saving if I decide to take that route.

But since I am waiting on Hoss to get his Adaptronic sorted, I might as well try E85, if he is going to Dallas to get tuned then I might as well tag along and see what Steve can do with E85 on my car. If anything, a little bit more safety would be nice. I can hit 10psi now, but it makes me very nervous, even with solid AFR's.

Yeah my buddy did it pulling bus lengths on a Mazdaspeed 3 on a less than ideal tune and it cost him an engine so I am little more conservative even though my tune is pretty solid,

Save it for the safety of E85, but ideally you'll need a software solution that uses a flex fuel sensor to determine actual e-level

This is what I am researching now. It looks like I will likely be following my buddy Hoss into the Adaptronic world. That would be the ideal situation. The other option, is that since VP racing Fuels is local, and the RX-8 is not a daily, I just go there and fill up with race gas But that will be more expensive in the long run and kind of a hassle.
