******* bullshit is what it is. I just pulled an STI the other night. I will upload the dyno graph tomorrow but basically I misfired from 5500RPM up and my AFR's dumped down off the graph from 5500RPM on up. It only does this occasionally on the street but it dd it every pull on the dyno.

I reverted the VE table back to the Kane base tune VE table and changed my injector bank size and it's better but it's still goes pig rich. I just don't get it, because shady was running my tune, he switched to it the night before and all he did was bump up the injector bank size and he pulled 250HP. Based on some other cars (caddy STS made 360HP and the owner said he is usually in the 420HP range) on the dyno we estimated that it is off by 50HP or so, so that means Shady is closer to the 300 mark probably and he had one rich spot.

Back to the drawing board on tuning I guess. I may just start over.

No and I am kicking myself for not logging on the dyno too. I am going to dyno again soon, I think I might have just figured it out actually, I'm about to go drive to find out.

OOPS...**** happens

I have a couple broken bolts I have to fix, nothing too critical though. Two of the bolts that hold the lower part of the fenders on broke(One on each side) and one bolt that holds the undertray on broke.

Well, the tune is much better (resized the bank 2 injectors about 50cc) and I found that I had a blown off vacuum line on the jet air (it was zip tied). I'm not sure when the line blew off, it seems like it would have caused a lean condition if it had blown off on the dyno. But I just pulled bus lengths on a G35 coupe so I know my power is back.

Houstonrx8er and I are going to datalog and try and fine tune things later on so hopefully this tune works out and I don't have to start over.

I hate dynos, but it did tell me something was wrong. I'm not sure on the actual numbers though, it was pretty sketchy. We had a basically stock (just Mazdaspeed intake) RX-8 pull 170HP (after some adjustments by the operator when the RPM wasn't showing) and then we had an R3 with RB exhaust pull a 144HP, then another tuned RX-8 with RB Revo and RB intake pull a 167HP, and the another ported RX-8 with a Borla Catback, RB midpipe, and AEM intake pull a 145HP. A supercharged Caddilac STSV pulled a 367HP and the owner said he is usually around 420HP, a modded Speed3 (exhaust, tune, intake) made 240HP which seemed low and Hoss-05's Honda CRZ Hybrid made 100WHP,

Hate to say it but seems like the typical rx8 dyno day. Always something going wrong with the dyno or the cars

Glad to see you are at this stage though

That splains it . After a while you will intuitively know when something like that happens and stop trying to make tuning alterations before you have figured out what caused the anomaly.

Any air leaking out under boost (post maf) will always cause a rich condition . How ever tuning for a leak then fixing it will cause a lean condition. A leak will also play havoc with LTFTs

okay guys, I had my injector banks all screwed up. I need your help clarifying some things because there appears to be different info out there.

2004 6 speed manual

Bank 1 = Reds (first 2 injectors from inboard out)

Bank 2 = 1 first yellow and last yellow (from front to back) or secondaries

Bank 3 = two middle yellows (from fron to back) or primary secondaries aka P2's

Okay, I have stocks reds, and stock yellows in the secondaries and stock blues in the P2 location.

based on the formula provided by Cobb below and Brettus, my bank 3 should be set at 600 (601 to be exact) right?

New Size Value = (New Injector Size / Original Injector Size) x original size value.
So my formula would be:

(480cc/380cc) x 476 = 601

Right? Thoughts?

So basically I had my **** all screwed up (I thought the P2's were bank 2) and now that I have fixed it I still have the rich issues so basically I think I need to start all over.

That's not bad. I wonder what the maintenance is on those things. Those guys Saturday made an easy $1,000.00.
