Garrett has the privelage of being able to claim that i believe. In fact many/most of the other well trusted manufacturers turbos are actually rebadged Garrett's

So if my turbo eventually breaks down, which I assume is an eventuality for ANY turbo, how do I find a Garrett that is a drop in replacement for my turbo from the Esmeril Kit? What sizing factors need to match up to fit the same space and pipes and mount? I don't know how to read turbo sizings.

You need it to be a T3 flanged footprint(like the GT35R) and a 3" V-band on the exhaust side. You can get this from ATP turbo. They sell the GT35R with this housing. It will bolt up to the Esmeril Manifold and Downpipe and is BB.

Also, the compressor side doesn't matter that much, we left enough space around it to be able to run a large frame turbo without hitting anything.

Best regards,

Chris

Yeah I remember well gambean. It's running fine, just gotta tinker with a couple things. I think I have resolved to not get it fully tuned till I rebuild my engine, no need to take chances.

To that end, I am waiting for these delightful new Esmeril Apex seals to come out XD

Chris answered my question well enough for now, I'm not really in the market for a new turbo, just wanted to cover that base should the worst happen.

Yeah im waiting on those seals too! i want to see some results. Otherwise just gonna go with Atkins seals. I can wait though, we just got like 5 inches of snow so its no hurry.

Also i did have a question for Chris.
Do you got anything upgraded on brakes? I mean all that power, you have to upgrade dont you? I think id like a Bbk when im done just to be safe since ill be tracking it.

stock brakes are adequate...BBK are a waste of money IMO on these cars...they look sweet though....

I'd go with some better brake pads over the BBK

As far as turbo sizing, go with a Garrett GT3076R. I can walk you through the sizing process if you want me to.

Lowering the car would be problematic too considering the wastegate location.
Having hundreds of horses without good an excellent suspension set up is a waste of money imho

I know that, but there are pictures of other users that show a very low clearance of the wg from the ground. That could be a serious issue if you do track your car since turn markers are pretty high in some tracks.

How much did you lower it\have you got pics to show the clearance?
Anyway i have no problems with stock brakes\w upgraded pads on tracks where you have several hard turns after straights. I had some problems with stock pads though

MM uses stock sized rotors with different pads on the track. In a thread somewhere on here he talks about how BBK's are pointless.

Well Chris said he's been daily driving the 414whp tune. I don't know how long you'd want him to run it to call it reliable. But you should be just fine DDing it in the 350whp region.

I have not much power over stock but my car did a heavy diet. Btw when you brake it's not a matter of power but a matter of speed. There are tracks here where you often have to abuse your brakes so again, it's a matter of speed.

If you have some info we're ready and listening, but your c.v. and pretty chrysler pictures don't carry much weight here......

Ok, so on with the show.

Chris. Kit looks great, HP #'s are impressive and cost seems reasonable. Based on these facts, great job!

So here are some questions I'd like answered as to this exact 414whp setup:

1.) Are you using an upgraded radiator such as BHR's?
2.) Are you using an upgraded water pump?
3.) Are you running the stock cat or cat-less? (Seems loud (good thing imo) for a setup with a cat and exhaust, so I'm assuming cat-less with exhaust?)
4.) What are you using for a boost controller?
5.) Are you using any under-drive pullies?
6.) What about the oil pan? Stock or Greddy aftermarket? (I know it's not necessary for the install but just curious)
7.) Not sure if this applies to this kit, I've seen it mentioned about the Greddy kit, but did you do any aux. port modifications to keep them open or closed?
8.) Also, is an oil restrictor for the turbo necessary? I saw something mentioned about this as well with the Greddy kit.
9.) Lastly, can you ship an Int-X with the same map that you attained this HP number with?

Thx in advance!

You better have some way of saving your car if you do run it that high. I mean supporting mods. I wont bump mine over 13psi until im fully sure i can.
