I was curious about that statement too, cuz I heard that when injectors fails, they typically get stuck open, not closed. But I don't know enough about anything to say anything with certainty.

I think when Jason wrote that it wasn't clear.

Engine/coolant temps are actually controlled by the thermostat which means they will stay the same with or without E-85. What E-85 actually lowers is exhaust gas temperatures(EGTs) not engine coolant temps and this is due to the fact that alcohol combusts at lower temps than gas. It actually makes it hard to even reach 1000deg of EGT compared to gas when temps of up to 1500 are normal.

This translates into a cooler engine bay and less heat on adjacent components. Not to mention that if a specific radiator can control the heat generated by X amount of HP from an engine, switching to E-85 will allow the same cooling system to be able to handle the heat from a little more HP without overheating.

Best regards,

Chris

not only that but it has a higher specific heat of vaporization... so it sucks heat out much better than gasoline as it vaporizes, cooling the charge.

thats why no intercooler is used when burning methanol.

He does not own our kit. The injectors were stuck due to poor tuning, which is why both opened together, the are electronically linked together.

That may be all good and well. But it is still rude to not return a customer's calls....
