Like what? A rebuild of the motor with Esmeril or Atkins Race Apex/Corner seals? Dowel pinning the motor? Water injection? Is this what you're referring to?
What did you have in mind?
Lemme know. Thx.

Well to tell you the truth im not fully sure. I guess it really depends on what you want to do, and how good your engine is. I think you have to talk to Chris about this some more. Will wait for his post and see what he says.
I personally wouldn't give out a tune like that to customers unless they brought their car in to get it tuned individually. Its like an insurance thing for them, if something goes wrong to your car cause the tune it might turn around and hurt them.

Chris. Kit looks great, HP #'s are impressive and cost seems reasonable. Based on these facts, great job!

So here are some questions I'd like answered as to this exact 414whp setup:

1.) Are you using an upgraded radiator such as BHR's?
2.) Are you using an upgraded water pump?
3.) Are you running the stock cat or cat-less? (Seems loud (good thing imo) for a setup with a cat and exhaust, so I'm assuming cat-less with exhaust?)
4.) What are you using for a boost controller?
5.) Are you using any under-drive pullies?
6.) What about the oil pan? Stock or Greddy aftermarket? (I know it's not necessary for the install but just curious)
7.) Not sure if this applies to this kit, I've seen it mentioned about the Greddy kit, but did you do any aux. port modifications to keep them open or closed?
8.) Also, is an oil restrictor for the turbo necessary? I saw something mentioned about this as well with the Greddy kit.
9.) Lastly, can you ship an Int-X with the same map that you attained this HP number with?

Thx in advance!
Answers:

1.No
2.No
3.No cat (Recommend at least full 3")
4.E-Boost 2(most others work just as well if set up properly and its not entirely necessary to have one at all.)
5.No under-drive, just aluminum versions of the top two(more pretty I guess )
6.Stock
7.APV kept open at all times(not necessary and it does not affect maximum HP whether you let it open on its own or keep it open, only affects the torque curve which is better if opening on its own but harder to tune.)
8.Included Aluminum oil inlet flange is machined with an internal restrictor.
9.Yes and No. I can give you the same base map but certain things must be tuned on your car in your specific weather situation, specially for cruising etc, my maps for these would not benefit you.

Hope that answered your questions.

Best regards,

Chris

Sounds like a good idea to me. I didn't find that tangent useful to the thread. T-Rex, you are free to have an opinion and make your own thread, but please don't thread crap someone else's thread.

It was simply a comment I made out of frustration after reading thread after thread and the results being the same. Thread starts off good and on topic the one of the othe vendors and or their nut swinging minions come in and shot on the thread. I'm not new here and have been around longer than most, I know who knows their sh*t so i normally pay then more credit. I just wanted to come read about the esmeril kit but instead I got page of unless bickering. I didn't want to add to it but some tool attempted to call me out and I bit so I apologize

Not one of the people that have posted here recently are vendors. RX8Club rules forbid that practice. They may be fanboys, but you'll have to deal with that.

Just for the record, you can refer me as a fanboi of BHR. I am proud of that. I am not a fanboi of Esmeril, although I respect their kit as far as the design and potential.

I like to root for the underdog Whom ever that may be. Microsoft Windows -> linux, Hotmail -> gmail, mazsport -> esmeril, JEGS -> BHR.

Everyone deserves a shot.

I have several BHR items and the quality is top notch, once the process got ironed out of course.

I also had the Esmeril kit, manifold is top notch, tubing was top quality aluminum mandrel bent with flares to keep the couplers on, everything worked, everything fit, showed careful top quality construction. Parts are meant to be a complete "starter" kit. Replace the turbo if you want, it would be still 1000s less than the mazsport kit. I'm not seeing why people are bashing just one aspect of the kit?

Just FYI for T-Rex, there are other threads with more details on this kit. Check out the original announcement thread. There was a lot of material there, though its a looooong read. This was more of a mile marker than a full kit analysis. However, Chris is still answerwing cogent questions from people here, so ask away. If you have questions, ask.

I realized that I don't have time for lots of car repairs in my own garage at this time in my life. I have school and a full time job.

It's not bickering. It's natural sceptics when you do 414WHP on a car with a very zenzitive engine while keeping it pretty stock.

Hell I've never had a hand on a turbo and haven't got pretty pictures of any, but I can still see many challenges in Renesis turboing. So let curious people ask, the OP proving facts can only add more info here.

I'll leave that alone since I'm just here to learn about the Renesis, don't want another debate started. As far as turbos in general and making power goes I doubt there's anyone on this site here (at least none I've seen so far within the last 5 years around here) who could tell me more than I already know. (I say that in the least arrogant way possible but I'm sure someone will get butt hurt by it and think I'm being a tool again.. )

To be honest I want to get my hand on one of these kits, either this Esmerill or the MM upgrade and see what they'd do with a much better matted turbo and then go from there redesigning them until I like what I see. I know you gotta start small and work your way up so I'm just here in the classroom with everyone else with my note pad and pencil.

for MM's kit the GT3071R is the largest you will get in that tight area btw...so the Esmeril kit is a better candidate for swapping turbos as there is plenty of room to play with...and that is of course you are looking to put a bigger snail in there.

From what I've heard, the above statement is true. I don't think you can jam anything bigger than the GT3071R in a low mount position. If you for some reason are trying to put some kinda massive turbo in, the Esmeril kit has some room to play, though I don't know how much larger you'd want to go. Esmeril Kit is already criticized by some people for having too large of a turbo, so even larger might just be maddness.

sorry to hear that ambitious. you might want to look into surgery.

its got to be a balance between size and thrust.

in turbos and.. other things.
