Reliability would depend on the setting that you whants on the car.
A few members asked for a list of parts to make a swap, I was talking with Robert and we agree that every car would be different, of course that you need a wastegate, intercooler, BOV, etc but there is a lot of details like fittings, hoses that would be different for each swap.
What we're doin with my car is when He needs something I just buy it!
Of course that Robert and I try to find the best prices but you can't make this thinking
on a low budget.......

Robert,
The oil hoses looks better than the factory one's.........................
You need to make a better bearing retainer to handle those 18 psi of boost,
"Wiso" extimated 800 hp!
RX8 rules.....................................

For anyone in Puerto Rico "Wiso" can put the 20B engine on the RX8 for $1,700.00
if you whant to do some port and install all the inside of the engine new like seals, springs, etc. He would do it for another $700.00 aprox. You would need to buy all the parts.........
He do it all this in aprox 3 weeks working only in the afternoons, after he came from his regular job.
Robert is really making a big favor to me because he don't work as a mechanic, I means that this is only a hobbie for him. Of course, he have all the knowledge and all the equipments to works as a mechanic.
He tell me that he is doin this for me because he whants
to see another 3 rotor RX8 in Puerto Rico.
I think that send the cars back/forward to Puerto Rico would be the big problem..........
probably someone in the US can make the swap.
But by otherhand no one's is goin to do it like a puertorican!
I'm so proud of all the rotary mechanic on the Island,
the fastest rotary cars are here!

I have seen this part first hand on another RX8. This part failed and the owner went to the dealer and they said it was abuse and voided his warranty. It broke in the same place on a normally aspirated Renesis.
I'm glad to see you guys testing the castings of various parts. I was told that this part was weak by the little birdie I know.

I dont want to "thread crap" but I have been talking to Rgonza about doing this swap. He reffered a fourm member to me and we are working out a price for the swap. I'm very interested in doing more engine swaps to the RX-8's. If anyone is interested just shoot me a pm! I'd be glad to discuss pricing for any kind of engine swaps......just as long as its still rotary
BTW, keep the pics coming Rgonza!!

Probably all the parts are $12,500.00 aprox.........................been conservative and without labor.
The big concern is that I really don't know exactly how to deal with the people on the "aduana" talking about taxes, usually every car that enter to the island need to pay taxes and is a lot of money. We need to figure out how to enter the car as a "show car" or something like that, that came for special event and they would give you a special permit to have the car a few days on the island and then is goin back to the USA.
I have experience working with importing, on my business I import like 8 vanloads per month. I have a broker and a lot of friends that can help me to figure out this.
But first, anyone interested need to have all the money to do this...........................
I'm goin to see Roberet tomorrow,
If Robert deside to do this I'm 100% with him,
but he's the man.......................he have the final word.

All the intercooler pipes are finished and the radiator
is already installed. The water pump is also ready.
I drive Robert car today and it was so smoth, no backfires
no big noise (this car have a catalytic) no overheat, Reliability is like a
"factory car" exept that in every shift the tires scream.............
GREAT CAR!

Wow. So nice to see a very fast streetable RX-8 for a "Reasonable" price. I wish I had the fabrication skills you have. Very nice work. I always loved PR's rotaries, man can you guys build em. I live near Mexico and I wish they loved rotaries as much as you guys do so I could go south and get some incredible work done! I envy you so much right now.
