it does, but the mazda speed will lift--the 09's actually have some downforce to them. Most all the racing teams have changed to the 09 style. Lots of differences in the front ends if you look closely.
Underpanelling can be done better--especially gas tank back. Can't wait to see the diffusor
Also remove windshieldwipers and side mirrors?

I think my splitter takes care of the front end lift.

The MS and the 09 have a little splitter/air dam which could produce some downforce, but I would bet that the engine underpanel had a big effect on removing lift. In stock form the air flow on the s1's would get very turbulant under the engine and the air pressure would build up inside the engine compartment. S you mentioned, the underpanel helps to evacuate the hot air (air pressure) which reduces lift.

I use the beat rush and I will have one built that is modeled after the beat rush but with some minor changes.

You're right, it is Inconel. "Most" of that smoke is fuel, 2x 780cc Primaries running on a 2x 290cc Primary Injector map that's been tuned too rich to begin with.

I'll start off with an easy swap to a 3.90 rear gear with stock trans.
Can't seem to locate anything taller than a 3.90 that would be a direct replacement/fit...haven't looked that hard either though.

Hi rj1977

I have changed the diff ratio in my RX8 to 3.9-1 and added an LSD as well.
The diff head is from my own RX8, the gear set is from a automatic FD rx7 ( Batman rx7 ).
The LSD is also from the FD rx7, as my RX8 is a JDM model and as I have found out, quite a few JDM model RX8s don't come with an LSD, just an open diff.
So far I have found the change of gearing to drop the RPM in 6th gear down by about 500rpm
Which I think gives a better open road crusing ratio.
You will lose a little bit of acceration, but I did the change because I'm going to turbo my car sometime soon, so the turbo should easily compensate for the slight lost of acceration.
Just for anybodys info, the 3.9-1 gearset from the RX7 is the same setup that MadMike uses in his RX8 Drift car as seen on the D1 Drift championship in the US, and MadMikes RX8 is a 20b turbo with around the 650hp going through the rear wheels.
Hope this info helps

This is definitely helpful! Thx! And thx to Team for his info that goes hand in had with this.

I'm actually chasing a lead right now on a 3.308 and 3.636 ring & pinion that would put me right around 206mph to 226mph @ 8K.

Btw - Here are a couple of links and some videos & photos on the Dandy FC Land Speed car. A lot of good and bad information to be learned here for anyone thinking of going the Land Speed route...safety first...Racing Beat is also a good place to start if you need a sobering experience or reality check...
